New Trophies

Post by Danny Derby »

It's been a while since I've died on this hill, so let's do it!

There's a number of world class races in the game that deserve trophies. How about getting our designers to work on the following?

2YO Sprint Championships
Arc De Triomphe
Chimbo
Desert World Cup Races
Midsummer Classic

Mixers are the red headed stepchild. There are more people involved in mixers but they still take a back seat to steeplechase and AW.

No arguments against a few marquee mixer races getting a trophy, I'm just not the person who knows what they are.

I'd vote for the Standardbred Triple Crown races but also agree that the races you have listed should be done first. Those are huge races.

Hey I’m not complaining about that. Just wish they got more recognition as being a part of the game and not just something people who can’t hang in TB fall to.

Don’t really care for a trophy, just a fix.
The workout times for mids and routes make zero sense as the sprinters will work faster in all distances then their mid and route counterpart.
It makes it hard to determine how good your horse is.

Let's not turn this into a discussion on mixers please - the topic of this thread is New Trophies.

Any races in the SIMuesum should have a trophy that don't already.

I think the Arch deserves it's own trophy.

Not so sure about the 2 year old sprints and some of the others listed. Grade 1 races get a trophy anyways and I think a race should be really prestigious to get a special trophy, and maybe even been a race that has been in the Sim for a few Sim decades. I would include the Melbourne Cup into that category.

I think races for older horses that have proved their staying power (got past the precocious 2 year old stage) should be looked at first, as well as those landmark 3 year old races for each breed, such as the Emotonian that was mentioned, and their version of Triple Crown races.

And on a side note...
If nothing else, I got a nice name for a foal from this thread
