Doing a Crazy

Post by The Steward »

I committed to going to a race tomorrow at Santa Anita for work that was originally slated for 4:30. It was going to be really tight to file the photos and then drive in rush hour traffic on a Friday to make it back for the race calls, but doable.

Except now post time is 4:53 and that's IF they are running on time. Add 2 minutes for the horses to go around the track, and another 5 minutes for them to gallop back and pose, and then I have to trot to my car.... plan is to order food while driving back....

Should we take bets on if I squeak through the door just in time to launch the broadcaster and start talking? Or will this fail miserably?

Modest fail: Because it is Friday night the traffic will be just a tad worse than normal; and you will be a few minutes late. But don't rush, because no reason for you to get into an accident yourself just so all the race calls go off like clockwork. We will live if you are late. Honest!

There are few things worse than rush hour California traffic on a Friday night. I’m half afraid to drive in it.

Ugh, the only thing while driving worse than rush hour traffic, is rush hour when you have to be somewhere!

Don't stress! Drive safe, and we will survive it you're late <3

You just need to explain to Santa Anita that they can't change the post time so you can be home in time to call the Arabian Desert Cup. I am sure they will understand.

Just explain to SA that its not the horses that are real its the emotions and I'm sure they will move post time for you! ;)

I’m sure we can just leave out the last race in the broadcast if we run out of time. No worries.

Be the tortoise, not the hare. Rather just hear some of the calls than none. Be careful!
