In year 50 I bought a lot of nice, but expensive mares from the Kyasuriin Matsumoto auction (ranging from 25k-120k). About half of them were already 12 or 13 years old at the time, and I really regretted spending so much for likely only getting one or two foals out of them immediately after the auction.
Now 5 of them have made it to the age of 15 (3 of them already survived their breedings this year) and 2 more 14 year olds will get at least one more breeding next year. Overall I got at least 2 breedings out of each mare.
Phew. :-D

.. to wake up, browse the sim and find that my 2yo solid galloping daughter of an unraced half to Secret Smootches (dam of Pepper Jack Boudin, Shattering Hearts, Silent Kisses..) had managed to win her debut in a 75k stakes with equipment my jockey Hannah O'Neil wasn't very happy with was a first for me. Made me put on the coffee machine thinking I was likely still half-asleep imagining things.

When you’re all out of GP and the gallop isn’t giving you equipment, but you race anyway. Then you check just for fun and they don’t need any equipment!

“Your rider was telling me that Boing Boing is difficult to ride. Have you tried a figure 8 bridle?”

Also my $1,000 claim won a G2 last Friday. He is his sire’s only foal to hit the track giving him 100% winners and 100% stakes winners haha

Rochelle, your use of 'haha,' instead of 'lol,' is a little thing that makes me smile :)

A great big smile -- hearing from the first player I mentored, way back in 2011. He played a few game years, then had to leave. He tried coming back a few times, the last being in Year 38, but real life always took over. Now, he's back again and hoping to stay.

My horses have been majorly grumpy the last couple weeks, whenever I pet my winners very few have had anything nice to say! And it makes me smile because I think they are ready for break

Well gotta say its kind of a big thing, coming in 1/2 in the filly turf dash, but also Dancin Nancy, winning the turf sprint for older mares, I just wonder how many full siblings won 2 SC the same year.. congrats to Lee and Katie gettin it done with Nancy, sad when you make more in breeder awards than purse winnings!!

I am so pleased with her! What a star she is! Lee wasn’t sure she’d place, I went to bed hoping she’d like the drop back to 5f and when I saw the result I was so relieved. Well done on breeding such a great one and a big thanks to Lee for leasing her to me. She was fun to run!
