How Did Year 52 Treat You?
So as the title says, "How Did Year 52 Treat You?"
For me it was all over the place from best year ever earnings wise and best ever on the track star I've ever had, to average win/on the board percentage, stakes wins, etc., etc.
I'll start with the average stuff:
36 wins, 32 seconds, 31 thirds, 13 stakes wins and 17 two year old wins in 185 starts (19.5% win/53.5% otb).
Best SIM year ever for me:
$4,767,370 earnings (previous best $3,816,760), $25,770 average per start (previous best $21,560), $132,426 per win (previous best $125,835).
Most exciting horse I have owned:
Fancy Shoes had an interesting Year 52 to go along with his Year 51 accomplishments.
-YTD career earnings, $4,853,000 (my previous highest earner Fourzen had $2,691,000).
-Year 52 he ran in six G1s all at a mile and a quarter, banked $2,910,000 with only two wins but running second and third in the two biggest races of the year.
-He has now run in 13 consecutive G1s against the best of the best.
-He will be back on the track for Year 53 trying improve on this year's record and keep making it fun for me.

Re: How Did Year 52 Treat You?
This is the best year I've ever had.
Overall: Trainer Stats for Year 52: 101 : 38-16-19 Win-37.6% OTB-72.3%
Earnings: $4,917,150 | Breeder Awards: $ 257,310
Stakes Wins: 15 | Maiden Wins: 6 | 2 Year Old Wins: 9
- My previous best for earnings was just a smidgen over $3 million back in year 49. Also 15 stakes wins is a new high, previously 13 also in year 49.
- Limited to just Thoroughbreds, I finished #1 on the "Average Earnings Per Start" list.
- Won my first G1s in the dirt route division ever in my long time on here, finishing off with a victory in the Steward's Cup Ladies Route.
- Antares, despite all the grief I give for him "choking" in big races, made a crapton of money this year, including winning $1 million in the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini. He is only a miniscule amount away from having earned more than any other horse I've bred or owned, and he still has at minimum a full year of racing left.
The bittersweet part is the realization that, with this stable, it may be a long while before I have another year like this!

Re: How Did Year 52 Treat You?
I have had a hard time being motivated in the SIM, so my year was weird because I really only focused on my fast stakes/freaks.

Re: How Did Year 52 Treat You?
The figures:
Trainer Stats for Year 52: 6,025 : 665-1,019-1,190 Win-11.0% OTB-47.7% Stakes wins:50 Earnings:17.2 million$
New record for most wins, most stakes wins and earnings
First time my wife beat me in earnings (by 0.6 millions) That is her smiley..
Some of my homebred horses turned out really good and breeders award start to generate some money. (29 out of 50 stakes wins were homebred)
But the main thing: My first steward cup win!!!
"So old in my shoes" tried it out in the most america races for QH. I used to hate the most american futurity because it is so hard to pronounce "futurity".
She did well so I entered her for Stewards Cup. Despite an awkward start and not likeable weather she pulled it off!
Flizan got her second SC win with her Super Chaserinne "Flizans Danielle" to beat me in that category as well.. Yep that is hers again.
All in all a really good year. As usual, too many claimers on the track. I am looking forward to Y53..

Re: How Did Year 52 Treat You?
I feel like I should be happy with my season, I stayed pretty consistent with last season which was one of the best in a long while and some stats surpassed it but I feel underwhelmed.
Yr 52:
271: 55-49-41 (wins up from 51 last year)
Win %-20.3% (down from 22.4% last season and 24.1% in yr 51, this has been declining and I'm not a fan)
OTB %-53.5% (down from 60.1% last year and lowest since yr 48)
16 Stakes wins, 5 Grade 1 wins (higher than last year's 12 and 2nd best (17 being best) but I had 8 G1 wins last season)
19 Maiden wins (16 last year)
27 2yo wins (same as yr 51 AND 50 lol!)
$4,234,410 earnings (down from $4,675,385 but is the 2nd highest in my career)
$284,265 (drastically down from last year's $535,725 which was my best ever)
Overall, this was a frustrating season with a lot of 2nd place finishes in Grade 1's and it shows. Earnings almost as high but Breeder awards almost halved. Add to this that I have not been able to do anything in the SC races since my only win in year 45 and it leaves me with a very frustrated feeling. Plus my top horses were kind of underwhelming this year so, meh.

Re: How Did Year 52 Treat You?
Year 51 992 : 197-182-142 Win-19.9% OTB-52.5%
Year 52 733 : 115-120-103 Win-15.7% OTB-46.1%
As you can see, my stats across the board are down, ever so slightly. But thanks to Oasis and Ring on My Finger my finances have never been better. I have some nice young stock I can look forward to hitting the track and all in all year 53 looks bright.
On the down side, Electric Blue and Dwight Eisenhower were both pensioned. Hopefully something pops up to replace them.

Re: How Did Year 52 Treat You?
I wanted to put this out, because to me, my running of races has really changed since year 50.
Although for many, these may seem like (not alot of stats) but to me, I was impressed.
Year 52 260 : 65-48-50 Win-25.0% OTB-62.7% Stakes Wins=16 $2,528,905
Year 51 216 : 54-50-31 Win-25.0% OTB-62.5% Stakes Wins=20 $2,633,150
Year 50 202 : 51-50-27 Win-25.2% OTB-63.4% Stakes Wins=14 $1,806,490
My previous high was 10 wins in a season before year 50! Since then, you can see how much it has changed!
No Stewards Cup win this year, but two hopefuls in Creator of Worlds (Go away Newt!!!) and Zendaya!

Re: How Did Year 52 Treat You?
I had about 200 fewer starts this year compared to last year, but was only $100,000 short of last year’s earnings and had a higher win % and on the board % as well. Financial summary is rather worrying, though: last year I was $4.5 million in the black and this year I’m $5.4 million in the red. (Someone please buy Wanted Aliveornot’s last four breeding slots!). I spent a truly horrifying $3.1 million on breeding this year in the hopes that I can get a really spectacular crop of yearlings. We’ll see how well that strategy works out.
