It seems like considerable time and effort were expended to create his proposal. After reading and reflecting on the comments, however, I do not agree that additional NW races are warranted at this track.

Since the end of Year 52, the overall interest in the Sim has declined considerably. The number of players departing or scaling back has been considerable. In this climate, why make this comment towards a player who still has very high interest in the Sim?
True as this might be, player retention or the lack of it is a management issue. All the same, it is true that the players leaving or "scaling back" are creating a significant issue of non-retention in the SIM. I'll wait anxiously to see if management chooses to address this issue pro-actively.

Would love to know your overall statistics on this perceived phenomenon.

Yes, we have made the number of stables dispersing public now, but are not alarmed by the amount.

For every major player that left but plans to come back (Paul Heinrich) there is another one returning (Paul Sellers/Eric Nalbone), and another that is still away but coming back (Abe Froman). The number of Game Point payments was way up in Year 52, and is now steady from there. The number of people in the chat room during the day is up. The forum has been generally quiet for several years, so that's not a good indicator. We've got an amazing group of new/juniors. Etc etc.

My statement in question:
The number of players departing or scaling back has been considerable.

Sounding the Alarm:
In one of your responses to your incident/accident in the Forum that occurred sometime around the last break (I am pretty sure this thread has been deleted), you voiced considerable frustration with the Sim. In fact, you even said that you were open to offers for someone to purchase the Sim. In a game in which a season lasts months rather than days, uncertainty about game ownership is troublesome.

Auctions:
Of the 20 auctions listed (Opened, Opening Soon, or Recently Completed), 6 (30%) contain the word "Dispersal" in their title. While openness may be considered a virtue by some, the barrage of "Dispersal" auctions gives the perception that there is a large outflow of players from the Sim.

Scaling Back:
If one looked at the top players based on TB starts from last year, a number of these players are projected to have significantly less TB starts this year. But I think these players are just scaling back. So I do not anticipate another "Kwok Shok".

Forum Posts:
If one did a Sentiment Analysis on Forum posts, the number of postings that would be classified as Very (Positive or Negative) has decreased considerably. This indicates that players are less engaged in the Sim via the Forum. But as you indicated, there are other modes of engagement.

Significant Drop in TB Sales Prices by the "Usual Suspects":
The sales price for TBs bred by Cara, Davenport, Vella, etc. has dropped off significantly. But I do not think that these players have significantly increased their supply of TBs. Unless there is a major supply influx from other sources, the demand for TBs has dropped off significantly.

Worrisome Sign (half in jest but still half worried)
Y53-W10-D5 Winners: #1 19 wins Ronnie Dee (#2 had only 15 wins)
In the past, Week 10 Day 5 used to be a big night brimming with anticipation and excitement with many players dreaming of being in next year's Derby winner circle, This year, there seemed to be little excitement or buildup. In fact, until I checked my results, I was not even aware of what night it was on the Sim calendar.
Note: I debuted 2 forgettable dirt routers. Both of these fillies finished 3rd. But 19 of my 38 other starters won.

I might have to un-retire (go back to work) if you retire from the Sim. :D

Last year I was logging on every Sunday to see if any stable had dispersed and the horses appeared in the game owned sales page. And they usually had, I think at least one almost every week. It's much fairer to those of us in different timezones to auction of the dispersed horses, rather than make us spend hours sniping AJ, so I love the change. I have no idea whether there are more or less dispersals now they're visible, but I don't personally feel like it's changed in quantity, just in how visible the horses are.

Holy crap, I go away for a few weeks and the forum explodes! Why was it not this exciting when I was sitting at home bored?

Anyway, if you don't want to run 1-3-5-7-9-11-13 etc, run 1-3-7-9-13 or whatever. Easy peasy. The SoAm ts 2yo sprint schedule is the same.
LONG OVERDUE FARM: Keepin' it Canada since Year 16.
Stallions to meet your every need. As long as you need a turf sprinter.
