Your Y54 Steward’s Cup Contenders Parade!

Post by Rochelle Bos »

It’s that time of year again! Who are you SC Contenders? Are they 100% a go, still struggling to decide? Flaunt those ponies!! I wanna hear all about them ❤️

♛ KINGSWOOD SC CONTENDERS ♛
SLAY GIRL SLAY - TM F&M - she is 100% a go, though she’s a butt and never wants to get that G1 win for me, maybe she can beat the monsters this year 😅 I’m pro going to wreck her 100% OTB. So scary.

DIAMONDS AT CHRISTMAS - TR F&M - Maybe...but also, why not.

IF WALLS COULD - DS F&M - Maybe...she hasn’t won since Week 1 of this year, but also she’s only finished slower than 3rd once and that was a 4th place finish 🤔

LEGO - TM F&M - So she’s a maybe, it will partially depend on surface condition, and partially depend if I’m a chicken butt lol

PEACE FROM MADNESS - TM F&M - She’s a maybe too. I have three 3yo+ TM prospects lol I don’t know if I want to guarantee 2 losses...

ELUNE - TS F - She’s a definite! She makes me happy ❤️

FOR EV ER - TM C - He’s a definite, cause why not 😂

LITTLE WISH - DR F - I kinda wanna just try her...

UNDERBID - DR F - A maybe? Kinda wanna try?

I’ll fluff it up and add my mixers later, birthday party time

I have two really nice 3 year old turf router fillies:

Roughian Definite for F&M Turf
The only time she's lost this year was when I pitted her against the colts in a Grade 1 race.
Last year she finished 2nd by a nose, in the SC Bunburette, behind the filly Rightlovewrongtime.

Foretold Maybe for F&M Turf
She likes mud, but seems to behave like she Loves mud, as she's never won on a dry track.
I tested her against the colts in the Grade 1, her last time out. In the 1 3/4 mile English St. Legar. It was a dry track, and also at longer distance that she never tried before. So I gave her three challenges in trying to get a win out of her for that - she did lead the whole race but was caught near the end by the colt, A Fighter, who won by 1 3/4th lengths.
I was encouraged by her performance, but am not sure if I would want to try her again on a dry track. Still, every horse has it's day...lol...so I am still tempted to enter her.

FLD Raven - Definite Paint Classic for a final battle with Prequell
Bromance - Highly unlikely, Paint Championship, if it's muddy maybe
King's Jubilee - Possible, Paint Classic, he's hanged with FLD Raven and Prequell in the past
Lambs N Lions - Definite, Paint whatever the 870yd mare race is
I Find My Soul - Possible, Paint 2yo colt route race
Neon Magic - Pretty possible, Paint Juvenile, why not go for another Breakdown style triumph if he can get in with his 5 points

Not a huge lineup for me this year, but hopefully a couple of decent chances for a trophy

Kilcreggan is coming off back to back G1 wins so he’s a definite lol. I’m not sure which race I want to try with him but it’ll probably be the Gold Cup or Marathon.

Choliyalalor is definitely in the SC Oaks after winning a stakes last out with a 98sf.

Arize Lalor if it’s a wet track I’ll try the SC Oaks with her as well.

Drunken Holiday I’ll probably run him in the Appy Dash just because I like the idea of running a homebred.

Tylendil I might run him just because he somehow managed to run 5th last year.

Highly likely for the Distaff because I'm bored and have a tiny stable is I'm The Bad Guy
She's super temperamental and will probably be way outclassed, but she's a Freak and she's coming off two wins, so why not! #YOLO

3 am here and can't Sleep, so I'll post mine:

My flat TBs are continuosly disappointing, so my only one there is Home We'll Go who I may or may not run in the Distaff depending on how she does in her next race.

Only other TB (Chaser) is Another Heart - didn't nominate her at first, so told myself I'd pay the 50k if she wins a G1 and she actually did, lol. Would be happy About a placing, but not expecting much.

Mixers I have some more promising ones:

Kooshaa (Arab Sprinter) will be trying to defend his Crown and Happy Little Pill (Appy Mid) will try to make up for his close second place last year. Both definitely have the ability to win it, but it will come down to race-day luck.

He's Losing It (Appy Router) is a nice prospect, but hasn't run above a 92, so going against olders, I'd be happy About a placing. Think he could do that given his Consistency so far.
His Little sister had an expected bounce last race, so I'll probably run her and just see. No idea how she'll do, but could end up being really nice in the future.

And my two year old Appy mids Self Chosen Pain and Time to Kill I think both have the potential (esp. Time to Kill who was a Freak before the Change), but my Appy mids also have a history of teasing me in big races, so I don't expect too much from them.

I hope I can be around for the broadcasts this year, because it's been awhile since I had this many TBs likely to go...

AW juvy sprint: Kitimat is probable. I've never had an AW SC runner before! No high hopes, but why not send him, right?

Appies: Sunset Prairie is possible, Hundred Percent is probable

Paints: I think I might have runners in all four route races- doesn't happen often! Sikanni Chief, Skeena, Kate McCannon, Kenny, Pictures on a Wall, Eventuality, and The Hotstepper are all possible or probable.

QH-wise, probably just looking at Syncline and Nicola in some baby races.

Turf sprinters!
For the Filly Turf Dash I have Juxtapose, who is five-for-five and beat colts last out.
As for the boys... there are decisions to be made, maybe. Northern Avenger and Talus are the two likeliest, followed by Blackstone, Pine Pass, Bonanza Pass, and there are even a couple more who might be in consideration after W14... I made a concerted effort to try to breed more nice colts these last few years and it seemed to pay off this season. If I have four or more genuine chances, maybe I'll have a little contest for a new-player race-day lease... we shall see.

Older ladies should be interesting too: Flaxen Points, Yet Another Monday and maybe even Mosaic are under various levels of consideration.

For older dudes, my only possibility is As a Rule who is pretty unlikely at this point... but I can't remember the last time that I had runners in all four TS races, so he might go just for the sake of making me feel good about myself. ;)
LONG OVERDUE FARM: Keepin' it Canada since Year 16.
Stallions to meet your every need. As long as you need a turf sprinter.

I will enter my steward cup runners here "In order of appearance"

W16 D1.
Synthetic Juvenile Fillies
Ride Sally Ride My first all weather entry in SC.
Synthetic Dash
General Practice Eh, my second AW SC-entry.

Derby Chase
Chickette
Pennart Strong Double GP sired winner at age 3.
Zac Mc Cracken
All 3 in the same race. The more the merrier.

I entered too many of my mixers. 21 of them I think.. lots of "Why not - thinking" on my behalf.
Some of them actually have a chance of winning.
Some of them have a chance of getting on the board.
Some of them have a chance of getting a paycheck.
Most of them are there to learn, didnt have a good alternative race, or are just simple "Why nots" :)
Polk Buffalo Stallions
Yoboki Arabian Router 40k
Blue Daub Adee Appy Mid 20k

and many more...
