My two love this too and pretty much the only thing they will play with. I don't know if it is because they were ferals and the feathers remind them of birds they used to catch or what, but once they *catch* the feathers on this they try to destroy the "bird".

I've always had cats and dogs my whole life but now that I'm in an apartment it is only cats - they are much easier when I'm working. Hate to leave a dog alone for 8 - 12 hours in an apartment, cats don't mind as much, I think.

Perhaps I should purchase one of those... Allan is waiting patiently for the real stuff. And he has brought 2-3 of those in the house. We don't appriciate the gifts...

Ooooh. Those are literally just a (fishing) fly without the hook. I could make bank selling those for twelve bucks a pop!

And here I thought you couldn't cat fish with a fly. ;)

Back in the 1980s when I had taken in Ashley, I got a really flexible buggy whip that our then 2nd hand store acquired, and figured it would make for a cool cat toy. The whip was about 4 feet made of braided nylon, with a long braided tip...and I tied a length of yarn to that to make it longer and I tied a furry toy mouse to the end of the yarn. I could stand in the middle of the living room or even outside and have that cat chasing that mouse and jumping up for it. The dogs, I had back then, loved it too.

My foster that I've been taking care of for five months is finally moving on to greener (?) pastures this weekend. It is sad. But that means room for another one?
I fostered kitties for a while it was the best time ever. I had to stop when my uncle came to live with us as he was highly allergic to them. My dog Jasper loved them. He definitely taught them how to deal with a dog, lol.
