What is the reason for raising farm rates from $20 a WEEK (not day) to $200? I cannot fathom? And "it's a beautiful day."

It boggles my mind that the minimum farm rate is $20 in the first place. Farms aren't cheap, and people who buy them gotta make some money!

Re: Increase in Farm Rates
The farm rate is weekly, not daily I believe.
The daily rate is always $5 a horse.

Re: Increase in Farm Rates
So I have nothing to add to this conversation sim wise but it made me think of real life.
We have our own property, training track, dad is a farrier and a dentist, and we produce our feed from bulk rather than a premix. We also produce our own stable bedding on farm. With all of those savings it still costs AUD$30 a day per horse to have them in work. Other local trainers who have to pay track fees etc are spending about $50 per day. In the major cities where our best racing happens, it averages between $100 and $150 per day.
TLDR racehorses are expensive

Re: Increase in Farm Rates
Even at $20 board fee which again is a weekly thing, most players barely cover their quarterly costs. Wonder how many sim years it takes to pay the 2 million back (buying a new farm vs from another player)

Re: Increase in Farm Rates
Big US Farma (sic) charges exorbitant money because of the cost of research and development and I suspect advertising. The patent expires and others manufacture the drugs and the price of the generic drugs drops. Is there a correlation to SIM Farms? Just thinking if I can buy the generic drug why pay the premium price unless they are the only drug available. Ha! Re: Increase in Farm Rates
I would assume, like myself, most people own farms not to make money off of it from others boarding there, but to save money by keeping your own horses there.
