Festivus...how'd you do?
Posting this in advance but how did everyone's crop gallop? Was it better or worse than expected? Share whatever you like about this year's yearling crop

Re: Festivus...how'd you do?
4 freaks 8 stakes and the rest allowance. Not too bad...
EDIT: This is some sort of sick, self-inflicted joke now... uggghhhh. What a terrible Festivus

Titanic gave me a claimer. That pretty much sums up the whole crop!
ETA: My last year garbage crop didn't improve either.

Re: Festivus...how'd you do?
I was due for a meh crop.
I think the brightest spot as far as yearlings go might actually be Pismo Beach, who could potentially be a multi-surface miler and actually ended up galloping stakes late bloomer
My only other TB stakes yearling is turf router Krakatoa who is a niece to Antares. Also late bloomer
Now, the older horses on the other hand, heheheheh...
Utahraptor, Kiss From a Rose, and Santa Fe Springs (yes, an Appy) all improved to freak!
Also had a couple more non-yearlings improve to stakes on top of that

Re: Festivus...how'd you do?
Okay maybe not so awful now I’ve done the older horses. I’ll post them later when I’m not on a phone but I had a large number go allowance to stakes or stakes to freak

Re: Festivus...how'd you do?
3 stakes for me 2 DR and 1 AWS which is pretty exciting! Also had 21 other allowances which is pretty solid and unsurprisingly I only had 3 claimers from my chasers, rest were DC.
yeah

Re: Festivus...how'd you do?
For my small breeding operation, I couldn't be happier ^^
20 Yearlings
- 2 Stakes/ 10%
- 6 Allowances/ 30%
- 4 Productive/ 20%
- 1 Solid/ 5%
- 7 Claimers/ 35%
And the Stakes are;

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1203556 (Steward bred)
I couldn't be happier with the years crop ^^
(and I also got 6 new stakes in my older horses through gallops, no downgrades!)

Re: Festivus...how'd you do?
I went through my yearling gallops alphabetically by dam's name for each breed. My mixers are God awful. Not a freak among them, and only a couple stakes. Then the first half of the TBs started out so bad I was ready to chuck the whole lot of them on the sales page. Second half of TB gallops miraculously turned it around. And I saved Cursebreaker's foal for last.
Chainbreaker is a freak (Pinatubo x Cursebreaker). And I got two more freaks: the Dave Matthews Band x Lady So Divine colt and the After the Disco x Maps From Memory filly. This is the first year I've had three freaks in a TB crop. Ever, in 38 SIM years. Only 35 of 76 are allowance or better, though. Hoping some of the late bloomers come through, because I seem to be very good at breeding those.
I had quite a few older horses improve. Leave a Whisper, Lady So Divine's four-year-old, went from stakes to freak. I had a few others go from allowance to stakes, including Longtime Lonesome, a half sister to Antares and Minior, and Sura, a half sister to Marrakech, Aleppo, and Soundscape. I even manage to breed turf sprinters that don't want to be runners until they're four, like Time for Winning, who went from allowance to stakes.

Re: Festivus...how'd you do?
Yearlings were the worst that I've ever had.
1 Freak, a dozen or so stakes.
And a plethora of claiming crap. But of course the majority of them are late developers. So we have a reason to hold onto them.
I give this Festivus a full meh.
One of my few older horses that doesnt suck went Freak. So maybe another 8+ weeks of him being able to bring in some cash.

Re: Festivus...how'd you do?
Overall crop was good..........fun fact for the Crop is that Saturanlia produced a Stakes TB Filly in each one of FIVE different divisions (TS/TM/TR/AWM/AWR).
Fun fact #2 is that I did manage at least one Stakes+ Yearling in 8 of 9 TB Divisions as well. Sorry AWS, maybe next year. First time for me at least that that's happened.
