No.
Since I run almost exclusively mixers my longest ship is three hours. Most are less. Doesn't seem worth it.

Yes.

I can't hardly afford to lose any Edges to anyone who answered "Yes", and I also can't afford to miss out on any Edges against people who answered "No".

Also, I'd better see all you Pro-Tax people from other threads using this feature like it's mandatory.

Nope.....

And I whole-heartedly agree with what Laura Smith said. It really does take away from the strategy of the game. Just dumbing it down a bit I guess, a bit more synthetic and a bit less organic. I for one don't want a level playing field, don't mind stressing the old grey matter to try and figure out how to gain an advantage over the big boys and girls. A bit of a shame. 😕

Oops. I did it. I did a discussion. Just can't help myself.
It needs to be clarified if this would be possible. It would make a huge difference to gameplay.

My guess is your average couple hour van ride didn’t add much tiredness to a horse so I don’t see first class shipping making a noticeable difference for locally based horses particularly not shaving a week off recovery time. I think where it earns its keep is the globe trotters that are sitting on a plane for 1/2 a day

This answer by Pete, and yes, I'll be using it, too. Besides this, the horses STILL get more rest at a farm than they do at a track, so it allows me to wait until the day prior to their race to ship them to the track, and it doesn't matter if that race is 500 miles away or 5,000 miles away, that's TWO extra days of farm rest (since I used to auto ship three days prior) for each of my horses.

Why? And what will you do if we don't? lol

And to answer the original question: I'll probably use it selectively.

For those wanting to ship their horses thousands of miles the
day before a race, too bad we can't have random flight delays.

Laura Smith wrote: 4 years ago Yes, though I lament the loss of strategy required in choosing the correct circuit for a horse based on the stakes schedule/race spacing, level of competition, other top horses who have chosen to race on that circuit, availability of purse money, weather trends, and accrued tiredness from shipping distances... I guess it'll be cool to see if I can race a Very Sound in back to back weeks?

The Steward did talk about this in another thread.
There's actually an added element of cleverness needed to train now. Yes, if you pay the fee you can have more international races. But racing against top horses all the time usually leads to higher speed figures and makes them more tired, thus you can actually do damage if you go for ALL the gold... going to have to pick and choose your spots, maybe even more carefully than before.

Oh, Ali! By the way...are you in Tulare this week? I'm heading for Garden Grove tomorrow and will be gone until Sunday night, so it's not like I could visit with you, but just curious!
