Favourite Babies

Post by Rochelle Bos »

Can we do a favourite babies post?

Mine is Starfall who’s mama was a VERY special lease from Cleo ❤️ No one was willing to lease out Skyfall line fillies 😂 I messaged quite a few people 🤪

Songbird Line fillies: With You and Sparrow

3x3 to Carona filly Believe in Magic

Wish Upon A Star Line (3x3 filly: Tale As Old As Time

Surprisingly I’m not over the moon excited about my TMs like usual... 😳 my DR babies have stolen the show this year! I’m most excited about my holiday mare experiment with my TMs, but a few more I like are:

These two girls are 2x3 to Constantly Little Red and Little Secrets

* Cat’s Sister is looking good for next year! So I’m pretty excited about her too

But really I love them all and could tell you about every single one of my TB babies 😅

Edit: can we just laughed that it sensored * Cat’s name? 😂

I have hopes for Miss Reveille, Rewrite the Stars, You Will Be Found, and Always Gold.

Having hopes of course means that they will all gallop claimer ;)

Star I See Tonight - she’s a half to my SW Balloons, the other sibs are not very good, I’m just happy with her name.
I'm just here for the fun of it

I'm impressed all 3 of you name foals. Brave. I'll play too!

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1266306 - this one has both Street Smarts and Nightchill in the first 3 generations which I find really neat.

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1261870 - this one terrifies me because I might only get 1 shot and the line is so wonky.

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1247784 - trying for a little bit of reverse Jubilation with this one

There's 307 others Im optimistic about as well. Which is going to lead to a long fall on Sunday when I get a chance to gallop them all :)

I'm probably going to regret posting in here come Festivus, but...

I think my favorites this year are:

Catonarainbowbridge - Nyan Cat's final foal. 'Nuff said

Meridian Dance - half sister to Derby winner Rathalos, and a similar breeding conceptually (3x3 Maryland Million)

Moon Moon - Just for the name lol

Madeline - named after one of the cats my mom adopted right around New Years this year, this is the first daughter of my most recent Steward's Cup winner!

Kingdom of Zeal - 3x3 to Sleep to Dream, pretty!

I think those are probably my tops, but I'd also really like to see something in one of my non-dominant divisions (i.e. any miler, any all weather, any non-TB) turn out to be really good as well!

New strategy for me this year, I've intentionally tried to forget about all of the babies I made. If any don't suck, it's nothing but a positive.

This one is the full sister to Roughian:
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1229467

I have a mare named Troublemaker I might steal the name off of, and tag that filly with...if she ends up being a stakes or better. If she's even 1/2 what her older sister is, she should have a name that shares the same idea. : )

------------
I somehow ended up with an oddball dirt router mare, Onthewingsoflove, in my turfy stable. She's a great example as to why it's good to ask questions. She was suppose to be a blue hen but I had several failures with her - when I got her, she was listed as an AW Router. I decided to ask for advice on the forum from those who knew more about AW and Dirt breeding - I asked if I should try her with a dirt router stallion and I got some great advice, and even the Steward chipped in.
I've bred her to dirt router stallions since then and the results:

Her first foal, Aloft, is a Freak
Her 2nd foal, Leto, is a Stakes

This is her 3rd foal...and I am hoping for a stakes or freak, given who the sire is. :D

--------------------
The dam of my freak mare, Foretold, was named Fortunate - I bred her to Phenomenal One which was not fortunate...as it killed her : ( So, I am really hoping her last foal will be as good or better than Foretold.
I really love the pedigree lines in this filly, it's just loaded with great sires and broodmares.

Hope she does her dam and her older sister proud.

How many of you have watched the Poldark series on Amazon?

Anyway, Brian had success breeding Happy This Way to a James Dean mare = Rathalos

One of several, I'm hoping the 'slide' favors me?

Yeah, I like the show., and Ross is devious in a good way, so I thought the name fit with the sire's name : D
I just wish I was better at breeding trotters.

last year I had high hopes and anxiety that it could be my little ones, unfortunately it was a great disappointment since most of them were claimer.

this year I am calmer with the experience I imagine most of my boys, and girls will be claimer I think it is the random law

If I would like to receive many surprises I have been able to use a few blue hen stars and formidable

I could see that Mr. Tim M, I use a lot the year before Just A Moment, with a 5k stud fee

and I decided to use that stud with several great ones, and some stars and I have 19 babys with him for this year

what strikes me is that Just a Moment last year got 22 Yearlings, and this year so far he has got 70 babies that gives me a little more hope that other players have placed confidence in him so I hope I can have many nice surprises

on other babies if I hope they can gallop greatly and although I have great hope the comfort of thinking that I can achieve great things is very calm since it is easier for everyone to be claimer than they can be something more special

I just hope to see the light of the lighthouse soon to know that we have reached port at the end of this week and to know that fate has given me with my little ones
