Re: Barrier Trials
Will we be able to have the jockey give us a comment on whether or not our horse is running with the right equipment like in an actual race? If pay extra just for that even if I don't know the proper equipment
yeah

Re: Barrier Trials
After a Barrier Trial race is completed, can one ask the jockey about the equipment (is it correct) as after a regular race?

Re: Barrier Trials
No because it doesn't count as a "start" it counts as a workout.Ronnie Dee wrote: ↑3 years ago After a Barrier Trial race is completed, can one ask the jockey about the equipment (is it correct) as after a regular race?

Onto Plan C: run him in BT week 1 with hb and BT Week 2 with fb.The Steward wrote: ↑3 years agoNo because it doesn't count as a "start" it counts as a workout.Ronnie Dee wrote: ↑3 years ago After a Barrier Trial race is completed, can one ask the jockey about the equipment (is it correct) as after a regular race?
Note: I was very surprised that he "bloomed" so early. I expected to debut him around Week 10. So he may end up being the Poster Boy for BTs.

Re: Barrier Trials
Do we run them in a Barrier Trial at the same distance, or shorter? Or Work out distance? ...distance confusion

Re: Barrier Trials
There are no rules for what distance to run your horses in a barrier trial, but 3 furlongs is intended for sprinters, 4 furlongs for milers, and 5 furlongs for routers. The Steward elaborates on this on the latest episode of The Morning Line PodcastErin Erskine wrote: ↑3 years ago Do we run them in a Barrier Trial at the same distance, or shorter? Re: Barrier Trials
How often are you going to use these trial per horse? Just once in earlier weeks or just once two weeks before races? A couple or a few times before week 10?

Re: Barrier Trials
As I understand it Erin, on the mixer side of the BT's, it should go as follows, 100yds- sprinters, 300yds- mid, and 550yds- routersErin Erskine wrote: ↑3 years ago About to have a listen now that I've some peace and quiet at work! Any idea about mixers distance?

Re: Barrier Trials
I may be dumb, but I'm coming back after a little hiatus so...I'm basically a newb. How does one enter a Barrier Trial? I get the GP entry fee, but I can't figure out where to find the available races.

Welcome back newb Click "find races" on horse page and there is a drop down for Barrier Trials.Madelene Gilbert wrote: ↑3 years ago I may be dumb, but I'm coming back after a little hiatus so...I'm basically a newb. Re: Barrier Trials
@Steward
I'm assuming the GP cost will be deducted like stakes fees and hit your account at results time. However, what happens if you don't have the GPs in your account to cover the entry fees? Will the horse be scratched at the last second?
Small ask: Is it possible to have "pending" GP transactions? That way you don't run the risk of overspending your GPs. For example, my account says 9k GPs but I have 4 horses entered in Barrier Trials. I'd rather see a 7k GP balance with 2k in "pending" transactions (that show up under Undo Actions). Then I don't have to worry about how many horses I have entered in trials and I'm not shocked at my balance when results hit.
