Frustrating Horses
Everyone has these frustrating horses, so I figured I would complain about one of mine.
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1064987 - Creator of Worlds
He is a five year old, winner of 1.66 million. Named by the Steward (with a note). He has won 5 of 18 starts, including the Long Island Classic! Unfortunately, that is about all he has done.
He is 6th & 7th all time for 5 Furlong Workout times! Only behind Owl Let you Know and The People's Horse!!! He also is 3rd fastest all time for 6 furlongs, behind Owl Let you Know and Blue Bayou. And for 7 Furlongs he is 2nd fastest all time!!!!!
All those horses ahead of him are 10+ million dollar winners, and he isn't even at 2 million as a 5 year old...
I see all these dirt routers out here running 96's, 97's, 98's, 99's, 100's, and his fastest race is a 94?
He seems like he likes longer races, yet he has only won one big race of longer distance. AND his half brother (Pete the Cat) was phenomenal at a mile!!!
Do I have an answer for him.... no, but I just wanted to write it all out. Much of this is probably my fault, but doesn't make it any less disappointing.
Thanks for letting me rant. lol

Lol Randell, I’ve got https://www.simhorseracing.com//horse.p ... ID=1072142 who has the same works and note but he never won a Triple Crown race and has earned less!

I thought of him before I wrote this. But he only matched in the 5f times. lolDanny Derby wrote: ↑3 years ago Lol Randell, I’ve got https://www.simhorseracing.com//horse.p ... ID=1072142 who has the same works and note but he never won a Triple Crown race and has earned less!

Re: Frustrating Horses
He's never missed getting a check in longer races, Randell. I'd say that's probably his niche. Additionally, just need to point out that Pete the Cat isn't considered his "half-sibling" even though it's technically true; only horses with the same dam are considered half-siblings in racing. For some additional context, Creator of Worlds has a sibling that excelled at longer distances, while Pete the Cat has a sibling by Vortex that also excelled at a mile. SIM bloodlines can be really funky at times though, and I think the experiments in cutting back with him were warranted, even if they were unsuccessful. For now, I'd default back to what he's done best at in those longer races. I bet he gets at least one more big one in doing so.
Just my two cents!
ETA: For more context, I've had multiple Steward-breds with notes. Every single one of them underperformed. To be fair, it's not like their trainer was a big help

Re: Frustrating Horses
I know your post isn't that serious but I think the reason why it might be more disappointing for Randell is the difference of your trophy casesDanny Derby wrote: ↑3 years ago Lol Randell, I’ve got https://www.simhorseracing.com//horse.p ... Randell, I felt the same about Home We'll Go for a while. She doesn't quite have your horse's workout times but after winning the Oaks with a 99 sf I thought I finally had my "superstar thoroughbred" that would win me some of the (other) big races. She only won 3 races since then and the two G1s she has won were 200k preps for the SC. I've kind of decided for myself now to just be happy I got such a bargain (you did too!) and the experience of racing an Oaks winner (TC race winner for you). Besides that, your horse still has some racing left in him and could very well win you some more nice races this year, as others have pointed out especially over longer distances. I'll be rooting for him!

Re: Frustrating Horses
He clearly wants 1 1/2 to 2 miles. Keep him at that distance, and you'll see better results.

Re: Frustrating Horses
Pick up some short route mares for his future harem and see if a mix of short speed and long stamina makes classic babies .

Re: Frustrating Horses
If it makes you feel better I own a piece of https://www.equibase.com/profiles/Resul ... registry=T, a horse that was in the top 10 of KY Derby prospects more than once this spring. He looks like a greek god and works like Usain Bolt. He's Richard Mandella's choice for keeping multiple stakes winner United in top form, because he pushes that one so hard in his works. In the afternoons he lets horses pass him without even bothering to pin an ear back. He's pretty much the most hyped-up non-winner of 2 races that I've seen in years.
The last time he ran I decided to watch my SIM replays instead of streaming his race live. I'm just saying...

I would say gelding him would be a option i had a horse run 7 seconds in a row and we gelded him and he won ! Safe to say atm hes not stud material so whats to lose.Kelly L Haggerty wrote: ↑3 years ago If it makes you feel better I own a piece of https://www.equibase.com/profiles/Resul ... registry=T, a horse that was in the top 10 of KY Derby prospects more than once this spring. If memory serves me right, you're not the only person who has posted in this thread that has a share in that particular horse.Kelly L Haggerty wrote: ↑3 years ago If it makes you feel better I own a piece of https://www.equibase.com/profiles/Resul ... registry=T, a horse that was in the top 10 of KY Derby prospects more than once this spring. Re: Frustrating Horses
I owned 100% he would have been gelded late in his 2yo season when it was obvious he wasn't a sire and his last start would have been a $50k claimer, not a stakes lol.Joseph Depaulo wrote: ↑3 years agoI would say gelding him would be a option i had a horse run 7 seconds in a row and we gelded him and he won !
