:P

Plus, what's really cool is Lucas Davenport's entry, the horse, Forefront, is from my 'Foremost' line of mares, as is my mare in the race, Foretold.

Looks like it's going to be a fun race.
It's going to be a challenge for, Foretold. She's the only mare, and all the rest are by the same breeder. :P

Six of Seven in the race are Stew-breds and undoubtedly, your hose is the favorite. That has to feel good.

I like my mare Foretold but she sure gets her fair share of good luck, bad luck stuff.

She's a freak...but also Loves Mud. So, that limited her in getting into G1 races as so many of them are on dry tracks.
This race actually has me smiling....from my viewpoint, it just looks fun.

~She was surrounded by all males, and all Steward-breds
~Then her luck changed another horse comes in, and it's a mare ! Yay, she's no longer the sole female in the race.
~However, that mare, So Come Find Me, is a Steward-bred, too...lol

And then Foretold ends up drawing the rail....bah!
Well, at least it's small field and hopefully it won't be too much of handicap for her to overcome, along with the racing against the other gender and uh, all of the rest being Steward bred. :P

Paul and Garret, Thanks for the encouraging words. : )

Thanks : )

And yes, she finally broke that million in earnings mark : )

I also think she's a good example as to why The Steward breds didn't need to go away...lol. People can breed horses in this game that are just as nice and for those who want to get a Steward bred...they help to drain money from the Sim and get good horses too. :P

I'm more proud of her, though, for beating the boys. I *think* this is the 2nd time she's done it. I need to look at her record again.

I looked up her record.

This is her 5th Grade 1 win
She won 3 of those against boys,
Plus she won a Grade 2 against the boys.

At any other time in my stable, she probably would have been the big star. But with Roughian out-shining anything I've ever had, Foretold kind of gets overshadowed. So I'm glad to see her pick up this win, she needs a little attention too, for her achievements.
Also, she has five Grade 1 wins against Roughian's four Grade 1wins. : )

Congrats on the win (and her million earnings).

Question time: How do you decide to race fillies/mares against the boys? You have at least two girls who win against the boys so you have experience at this.

That's a great question! Thanks for asking.

A lot of it comes down to greed on my part. :P

I keep looking at two GI races being raced the same day -- for example, the Chicago Million and The Beverly B.
The 'open G1 race', The Million, is as advertised, a $1 Million dollar purse. The Beverly B 'restricted to females" is $500,000.
The winner gets half of the purse amount.

However, if I'm going to put a filly/mare against the boys, she has to be a really nice stakes type, or a freak that has won at least one Grade 1 in the filly/mare races.
If my filly gets beat in the first attempt against the boys, I will sometimes try one more time...especially if the filly finished in 2nd, or 3rd. And again, the purse money is a big part of my decision. Some of those open G1 races in the turf routing division have huge purses...and finishing 2nd or 3rd in one of those can earn more than winning the purse money in a G1 filly/mare race.

I also have the 'if you don't try, you will never know' kind of attitude...most of the time it doesn't work out. Roughian has won a lot of money, but if you look at her record against the boys...more often than not she doesn't win...yet she still comes off the track getting an A for effort, and a big bag of money for 2nd or 3rd place. : )

Also to all who have congratulated me for Foretold's win...Thank You!
