It used to be common knowledge that you shouldn't race your horses more than every three weeks, and it was often advised to give a horse a rest or break if it wasn't performing well. Then fitness was made visible and it turned out a lot of horses were unfit from resting too much. (Yearlings would be galloped once, paid for equipment, and maybe once through all the schoolings, and then not touched until they started and then never raced frequently enough to gain fitness.)

Whoa. Never heard that one. Noted.

So we have five weather bands, pay $1000 per horse and it gives little or nothing ?

I will start a very good horse in a Stakes and have done well doing so (Note the very good horse part)

Dan hit weather correctly. The "Love" fast or wet" comment needs to be followed more so than the rest

Every single horse I ever bought a Headshot for BEFORE they have raced has been a disappointment (Never again...lol!) But I have never had an issue if they have earned it already :)

I never bet on one of my own horses in a big race. Every time I have done so in the past, the horse did not win. That's my biggest superstition.

Yup. Not nothing, but also not a lot. Just like how you can throw money and GP's at finding the best possible jockey and it'll only matter a little bit. I'll try to find the direct Em quote on the subject.

Changing the name of a horse bred by the Steward is bad luck :o

It's definitely a sim urban myth that some players get advantages over others. It's all just a game. They are obviously just doing it better.

Announcing your bets in chat during live calls... should not be done unless you have full confidence in the horse you're betting on, lol

As annoying as that is, your horse wasn't named prior, which means you had to give it a name, haha. While I commited the sin of actually renaming a horse :?
