Sugarloaf Rune

The name is an anagram of Laura Ferguson. Companion cat is Laura F.

In the foal's pedigree (3x3 to Pact), there are TEN horses either owned, trained or bred by Laura Ferguson.

Feeling proud of my homage (Oh-Maj).

These two fillies have names I really like:

This filly galloped as a stakes. I am hoping she will upgrade to freak.
I gave her a name that kind of indicates another family troublemaker.:
***She's a full sister to Roughian and thus, 1/2 sister to Mal***

Outlawed

This filly is a freak, and 1/2 to my freak mare Foretold, who's won 5 Grade 1 stakes and earned over a million dollars : )

Yearlings:
A Frank Silence who wasn't originally named after Frank Chilton/Harlequin but after he made a joke about me trying to shut him up, I've decided to make him her namesake retroactively. :D

Earth Girls Are Easy. I love the movie she's named after, which is a so-bad-it's-good favorite for me. This is also a bit of a play on her sire and BMS (Earth for Liam's Map and Easy for Easy Goer). Easy Goer is my racehorse crush and I have a few foals I've bred to get his bloodlines into my barn.

Oh Five Aitch. This is the phonetic spelling of the code of my Army MOS (my job/role) from when I was in the US Army decades ago. She's a Late Blooming DC right now, so I have my fingers crossed she'll improve.

Foals:
A Fourth Wish. This is a play on her sire and dam's names and the idea of asking a genie for a fourth wish (which is supposed to cause them to take away your previous three wishes).

Burley Griffin Trail Slickrock is the name of a famous mountain biking trail. Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra Australia where I live has a bike trail named after it. Mr. Burley Griffin was an American architect who won an international competition to be the the urban designer of Canberra.

Moon Cheek His name is both a play on baring your rear, and is a color type for a specific kind of South American parrot.

Mouse Goes West is a reference to "Fievel Goes West", which my son watched just about non-stop when he was little.

Noisy Purim Purim is a Jewish holiday that includes shaking noisemakers when a particular (bad) king's name is said out loud during a holy reading. This boy is out of Salamu, a granddaughter of Shalom (which means "peace" and "hello/goodbye" in Hewbrew).

Mr. Screwtape The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis are a favorite book of mine.

I only have three and two are just so-so. I do like Twistedinthebayou by Blue Bayou out of Twysted.

I really like Nini's Breath On a Mirror. Such a good visual.

My three favorite foals are not here, but these are my five favorite names. I couldn't limit myself to just three.

Clearly for the MCU connection.
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1284671

I think it's a decent combination of the two parents names.
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1285586

Decently clever if I do say so myself.
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1294746

Silly but cool.
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1292070

Decent name for a Slickrock foal.
ttps://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=1288854

Apparently, I can't limit myself to five either.

A bonus that is a deeeeeep cut for any M A S H fans out there.

I used to name all my foals before gallops and then without fail I'd be angry that a horse had a good name and a terrible gallop. Then last year I named NONE of my foals until after gallops and was much happier that way. Then this year I was dumb and named a few which I know I will regret (less than 10 though so hopefully not too much regret). Any of my foals with names this year have at least some level of expectation... which means I'm just asking for disappointment but it is what it is.

These are probably the two foals I'm most excited about and both have good names. There's a theme to their names too that you might be able to figure out...

My Ride's Here (Follow Your Fate x St. Elmo's Fire)
Named after the illest album art ever

God Is An Astronaut (Like Diamonds x True Love Waits)
Fingers crossed for this one. Named after the band

The Other Shore (Fearless Spirit x Agnes Lake)
From Deadwood: "Agnes Darling, if such should be we never meet again, while firing my last shot, I will gently breathe the name of my wife—Agnes—and with wishes even for my enemies I will make the plunge and try to swim to the other shore."

Without a doubt, Brakence

He's named in reference to one of my new favorite artists that I was introduced to by a family member that passed away in March. We had a lot of late nights sneaking out in our high school years just go get some sort of various fast food and chill out in a parking lot somewhere where we'd talk about just about anything and everything

The colt has a full sister named Veldt which is looking to be speedy so 8-)
