Because the change has taken place, I'm guessing Yang Wenli *was* a freak last year, but is down to a stakes for Year 57. 0% chance he wasn't a freak last year.

Possible but I generally don't see 5YO stewies decline like that. His performance on track will be the judge of it, not a comment.

One of my Stakes went to Productive. And I had galloped Y56-W14-D3. Ouch.

But they are 3 & 4, which means it's like a 0% chance they would downgrade at such a young age.

Exactly! Just ignore the gallop comments! If you believe your horse is a freak, then that's all that's important!

Horses can decline from 4 to 5.

Pretty much all my horses downgraded. Almost all of my stewardbreds declined, except somehow this 8 year old (https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=963785) and 6 year old (https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1048488) stayed stakes, while my younger horses all declined.

 well, I think it is better to have this bitter drink right now, and not in competition

I think this is still great, now when you have a Stakes, or Freak, you know you have something VERY GOOD, that will make your life happy

I think there will be no more regret about Freak that they didn't win a competition, that's great

That isn't likely. I would guess that he was at the very very very tip top of the new stakes scale, but not quite a freak, and that explains the last two races. I'll take him if Stakes are below Danny's minimum cutoff and he's considering sending him to GP.

Before this gallop change happened, I had a filly go from stakes to freak and back down again after 8 weeks. She turned freak W1 of her 3yo year, and regressed W9 3yo year. So it happens

 I think my yearlings need to have a new one, to know their LB Progressive cap, or Peak since only the type of canter appears (Allownace)
