Baby Gallops?!

Post by Lily Wilkins »

Oh my gosh, guys. I am so excited!! I bred a small crop of 14 horses last season, and 3 of them are Stakes! With the new adjusted gallop scales, that means a lot to me. Better yet, two are Late Bloomers and one is Progressive. I tried pairing You Never Know with a Warehouse mare, (same cross as DMB) which resulted in one of the Stakes gallopers... Super cool!
14 horses:
3 Stakes (You Never Know, Parts Unknown, Allonsy)
4 Allowance
4 Productive
2 Solid
1 Claimer
** Edit: THIS is the Warehouse mare who gave me a Stakes Progressive... I believe she was rated "good" if I remember correctly. Just goes to show, something nice can come from anywhere! https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=919379
How did everyone do?

Got a few cool things but most excited about this Stakes Late Bloomer all distance dual surface colt! Can't wait to see what he can do, hopefully he can be a stud.

From 13 foals, all dirt routers, no freaks but 4 are stakes gallopers. All of which are fillies. One is a Steward bred.

I somehow had 3 TR freaks... including Titanic's last foal so <3

3 Freaks (Light Up Light Up, Moon Faced, Night's Quiet)
7 Stakes (Blue Bayou x 2, Dave Matthews Band, Happy This Way, Night's Quiet, Obsidian Fury, World of Color)
29 Allowance
26 Productive
20 Solid
40 Claimers yuck
3 Different Careers but chasers, I think

I have 3 TB Stakes Late Bloomers too so fingers crossed that maybe one of them upgrades to freak (I really want Enchantment's filly to upgrade lol)

What a weird day for me with the new ratings...

I now have 2 freaks (DR) from 58 TBs, but 0 stakes. 11 allowances and a looot of productives.

I try my best to be excited for the freaks, but it's so annoying that even when I get my hands on a mare with a great pedigree I can't breed anything useful. How can you be that bad at picking out a stallion?? I can't even say I'll just cull my mares and lease/ buy some good ones, because I've never bred anything better than allowance from a "good" mare lease. Don't know what I should do at this point, it's just so frustrating.

The freaks are this SB by The King , first I thought I was paying too much for her, but I really liked the sire.

And, what I'm most excited about: Home We'll Go's first foal is a late bloomer freak. I anxiously waited all year to see if Allonsy would make it to week 16 so I'm glad the breeding worked out.

I found a TM filly I didn't gallop. And she is also a Freak! (Pepper Jack Boudin). I am now truly stunned.

Had a pleasant festivus.

Bred 2 freaks:

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1303881 Late bloomer. Nice Tim Matthews pedigree; Man in Motion out of a Raleigh mare. Cool!

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1285975 also late bloomer, out of a fancy formidable mare

Also bred 5 stakes (Brilliance, Gangsters, Mr. White Socks, Ransack, and There There There)

2 TBS yearlings are stakes
Got bombed, got frozen
Got finally off to finally dozin’

Bred anything i could get my hands on as i'm trying to rebuild my stable. 1 Freak (Hartnell) and only 4 Stakes , Quite disappointed with the amount of claimers but it is what it is.

Good luck everyone for the new season.
