New Steward Bred Rules
Only real piece of feedback I've got right now is that I think it would be wise to NOT count retired horses towards those purchase totals. The spirit of this is clearly meant to be to limit auction purchases, buying a 9 year old formidable stewie mare shouldn't count as a ding on that.

Yeah, I agree, it also limits mare swaps and whatnot. Other than that I'm a fan!

Re: New Steward Bred Rules
I agree.
For example, I have a steward-bred mare swap planned with a player. Technically neither of us is gaining a steward bred per se, we are just mare swapping one for another for the year. But this would hurt both of our steward-bred counts because it would look like we both bought a steward-bred mare.
Mostly I really like these rules though.

Agreed. If an older "meh" STB mare shows up in AJ or the sales page, it would be cool to jump on that without it counting toward the yearly limit. But if that's not feasible, I understand. I love the new rules structure and am so happy that Stewardbreds are staying!

Re: New Steward Bred Rules
For the mare swaps, just breed your mare’s foal to the swap player’s specifications and vice versa then sell the foals to one another for the value of the stud fee.

Does that include leases/mare swaps or not? Sorry, not trying to be annoying, might be a language thing, I just didn't understand that part.Players are allowed to buy two Steward-breds per year, of ANY age.

Re: New Steward Bred Rules
does buying steward bred retired studs from player auctions count? this could really affect buying and selling studs in the game when that is not really the point of what is happening with the auctions.

Re: New Steward Bred Rules
As someone who frequently leases out some of her retired stewardbreds each year I'd also be interested in clarity over whether someone leasing those mares from me would limit the number they could then buy or lease (in the case of foals) from the steward.Ma Springs wrote: ↑3 years agoDoes that include leases/mare swaps or not? I noticed that Alexandra Jaysman bred horses don’t currently count as a Steward bred purchase, how will they be affected by the new rules?

Re: New Steward Bred Rules
It does not say anything about leasing mares from each other - only leases directly with the Steward - so I don't see how leasing a mare to another player affects this. Runners may be a different story.
Overall, I like it when rules are clearly stated and spelled out.

Re: New Steward Bred Rules
I don't mind the limits with leasing two mares out to the steward and buying two foals/yearlings at auction. Seems fair or at least some boundaries created.
However, if I want to buy or lease retired stock from players such as stallions or mares which happened to be steward-breds, then that should NOT count towards the limits.

I feel like the limit is to help remove money from the game

There should be a limit on how many extra slots a person can buy.
