144 claimers, 33 late bloomers
187 late bloomers

<rolls dice>
speed ratings in losses are pretty meaningless.. and its no indication really of much of anything.. the change happens after barrier trials on sunday for most, 7pm eastern time at least here.

I had never seen that happen before. I'm curious to see if she'll still be able to improve this year, as I didn't think that would be possible...
I re-galloped this filly and she went from Stakes Late Bloomer to Freak Peak!

Nice. Men stroll rage did the same thing for me, downgraded back to stakes at the threshold adjustment. He had lots of success with that last improvement, hope your horse does too

The irony is after this post I actually had a horse go from Productive to Freak!

So can see with my own eyes it's possible now :lol:

A pair of fillies graduated from Allowance to Stakes.

But the Star of the Show was this filly! Blue Bayou to Teddy K G B's dam produced this Stakes to Freak:

I don't usually bother with week 9 gallops- if they've improved a measurable amount, they'll show it on the track- but I did a few this year. So far, two Northern Avengers from alw to stakes, and a Tragically Hip from stakes to freak!

I love the new Horse Talent check for this! Satisfies my curiosity without interrupting their preps.

a slight mistake brought on to a gutsy victory.. I foolishly galloped this guy on 8/7 forgetting he had a race today, 2 days later, which is why he lagged yet with guts and deeeeetermination he won anyway! but that does explain the early lagging!! hats off to my winner of the day PENTATONIC!!

It's level of soundness may have played a part?
