Sometimes the SIM is kind

Post by Carole Hanson »

Mahler won the Grade 1 “Silver Sword Stakes” last night to bring me up to 1,000 lifetime wins (and congratulations to Brian Leavitt who also accomplished 1,000 wins last night!).

This 1,000th win has been somewhat frustrating to wait for, with horses like Fiery Eyes not being able to break through for me when it mattered. But the SIM waited and waited, and finally chose the exact right moment to give me a piece of happiness. Today is the one year anniversary of my beloved dog’s passing. Results in the UK happen at 4am Saturday so I like to think that the SIM was being kind to me and gave me something special to smile about on this specific day when I woke up.

I loved my dog very very much and there’s not a single day when I don’t miss her immensely. She wasn’t just a pet to us, she was a family member. I always called her my baby, and that’s exactly what she was and always will be to me ❤️

Your story with Mahler reminds me of my story with Cat Named Boots.

Congratulations to you on your 1000th win; yours was definitely way more exciting than mine, which ended up being a conditional allowance lol

Thanks Karl and Brian! And Brian, you have WAY more shiny trophies than me, I think they make up for it ;)

Congratulations to the special win! (And congratulations to Brian too! :))

Seems like Mahler really enjoys getting older.

And 💜 for all beloved pets.
