I thought hall of fame voting was every 2 seasons? But I might be wrong.
Simmies happen next week though and I think after that it’s usually HoF voting.

Re: Thoughts About A Hall of Fame/Midyear Break?
I never did mind the occasional longer breaks. I think that might have been because back then, the Sim was a little more hard to play as far as having to try to figure some things out. We didn't have agents, gallops that told us the quality of our horses, or even how many pieces of equipment was the limit....remember the days of loading your horse up with like 5 or 6 pieces...lol.
We had a lot more buttons to push and things to try to figure out during the season, and for me a longer break just 'worked'
But since some aspects of the game are much easier now, it takes less time and frustration (at least for me) so I haven't felt the need for those long breaks in some time.
I have however, in the past 5 or so Sim years...been cutting back my racing stable as I let it get too large for me to comfortably handle, as my back got worse and time sitting in a computer chair became more limited due to the pain it caused. I think I finally reached a nice point in my stable size, so that's reduced the stress of trying to get things done here without dealing with pain.
If it came back down to it though... I would still rather have a longer break than have one mid-season.
I think all that comes from when I was in high school and we never had 'spring break' We just got the school year done and over with...and it was much nicer just to walk out 2 weeks earlier in the spring, rather than do that for 2 weeks, then have to go back to school again for some weeks...and not get our summer vacation until later into the spring. That would have felt like some kind of mental torture to me...lol.

I wish off-season break was longer. We were only off a week and races already open tomorrow. Kind of a bummer to be back on the grind again so soon

Re: Thoughts About A Hall of Fame/Midyear Break?
1, Based on my understanding of the Sim revenue streams (for Em and the other Sim owners), I estimate that there is a reduction of (annual -- RL 52 weeks) revenue by 1-2% during a break week. Inserting up to 3 additional break weeks in a calendar year would reduce the annual revenue up to 3-6%.
2. I am retired so I am almost always on a RL break. So if additional break weeks are added or deleted, I can adjust because I am experienced at finding things to do to fill up my days. In addition, the many great SIMperior features make the Sim an enjoyable past time (not a grind) for me.
Note: this is an unpaid endorsement of SIMperior.
