38 TB mares bred, 1 Stakes, 9 ALW, 16 productive 4 solids and 10 claimers. Most are late bloomers so lots of room for improve.

Couldn't be happier with my 1 Stakes, Ziyal, from my first crop homebred sire Buildyouasnowman, last son of blue hen Snow Swept's line. I made a last minute decision to retire Snowman, with most of my best mares already bred, so he only saw 18 ladies. Thrilled to have a stakes already, the rest being very nice late-blooming allowance and productive, and only 2 claimers. Very excited for my boy's future!
PROUD BREEDER/OWNER OF:

GOLD SWEPT, Steward's Cup Juvenile Fillies Sprint champion, GRADED STAKES winner at 2, 3, 4, 5, AND 6, earner of $1.9 million!

LAST PARADE, Steward's Cup placed, G1 winner of graded stakes at 2, 3, and 4!

Overall mixed feelings - from 78 yearlings:

2 Freaks - both turf routers - Deficit Clock by Deputy Governor out of a maiden winning "star" broodmare named End the Countdown; and Double Dog Dare Ya by Obsidian Fury out of a maiden, unraced, formidable mare Yellowtail. (I get to race a 3rd freak for the Steward - but does't count since I didn't breed her)

5 stakes
16 allowance (most late bloomer/ progressive)
26 productive (going one by one - I had a stretch of 10 straight "productive progressive" - definitely was the most typical gallop of the day)
6 solids
21 claimers (2 are chasers) - almost all late bloomer/ progressive
2 different careers - both chasers

So I am totally psyched about all of the freaks and stakes runners; but bummed that I'm only 29.5% allowance and better, generally I'm at 50%

In the 2year olds - no gallop changes
3& up had 5 improve from productive to allowance and 4 improve from claimer to productive.
I'm just here for the fun of it

The only one worth mentioning of the 144 (cus 143 were trash) is Champion. He is versatile and was nice enough to give me his gallop piece at the first gallop. He is a freak.

I experimented a lot this year, and it shows. I bred a lot more than previous year, and yes. Quality beats Quantity. But one has to try new mares at least one time before sending them to the corner of shame xD

Freaks: 0
Stakes: 7 --- 4,6%
2 DS, 2 DM, 1 AWM, 1 TR, 1 DR.

Allowance: 21 --- 14%
8 DS, 4 AWS, 1 TM, 3 DM, 3 AWM, 1 TR, 3 DR.

Productive: 51 --- 34%
Solid: 30 --- 20%
Claimer: 40 --- 26,6%
Different Career: 1 --- 0,6%

2nd best crop ever but that isn't saying a lot. 😂 2 stakes late bloomers - a That Voodoo Youdo and an Arab sprinter. 17 allowances, and a 2yo Jimmy Durante filly jumped chase freak!

Not my best galloper. But my favorite.

She's *only* a stakes progressive, but her sire, dam's sire, second dam's sire, and third dam's great grandsire all won the Baltimore Crown.

Without going into specifics, because I'm too tired. I actually stayed up for the event this time. A pair of headliners emerged destined to make SIM history :D :D

41 Arabian yearlings:
2 Stakes Late Bloomers (both routers)
4 Allowance (1 LB, 1 Peak, 2 Progressive)
17 Productive
13 Solid
6 Claimers

And 1 claimer late bloomer TB DR yearling.

Compared to my first crop last years, a definite downgrade Must've been beginner's luck- the SIM is a fickle mistress!

Okay it wasn't really that bad. Plus, whenever I get down on myself I just have to remember that I'm going to win the arc this year :)

In all seriousness, out of 199 foals:

Only one freak, a late bloomer filly by From Now On - https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1380428

*Twin* stakes late bloomers from Fearless Spirit, which is neat: https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1388151 and https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1388150

Stakes progressive filly from Follow Your Fate: https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1401227

A versatile stakes LB filly from Kentucky Storm: https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1385473

Two stakes LB fillies from Mahler: https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1428360 and https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1428364

Three stakes progressive TR fillies: one each from So Much to Say (https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1428425), Summerland (https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1385247), and There There There (https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1385275)

And my Steward-bred from Nighteyes is, obviously, stakes peak, as 98% of TBS horses are: https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1391515

Everyone else sucks at the moment. 6/9 (nice) of my homebred stakes came from leases. A good chunk of my stakes gallopers are from divisions where I don't usually compete, so it's nice to be branching out again. But the DR and TR mares in my stable have been caught lacking. RIP.

What on Earth are the folks with high freak percentages doing so differently that I'm missing?

Out of 175 TB foals...two freaks, both by War Like Me. 5 or 6 stakes. That's it.

Out of all breeds, almost 300 foals and 6 total freaks (2 TB, 3 pacer, 1 trotter).
