Versatility surprises

Post by Paul Sellers »

So far I've had some surprises.

Turns out Volcanologist is, in fact, versatile. I would *assume* that means TM instead of AWR.

This girl is versatile, which means TM and :?: ?

Not surprised that this stakes galloper is versatile, but where should I try him next? :?

And yet secret agent guy, is apparently, not versatile.

being versatile comes with its own problems, but finding out that horses are versatile for different things at different times makes it all too confusing for me to ever consider trying to produce one.

Pretty cool feature.

I have a Mitole offspring that will be fun experimenting with.

Will be a distraction from my dirt router rut?

I would look at Volcanologist at AWR. Two Toned has shown some AW ability.

I would absolutely try AWR. One and Only's #2 and #4 highest earners are G1 SC Synthetic Matron winners.

I've heard that phrase, 'What you don't know, won't hurt you'
I'm beginning to think with this versatility thing in the Sim..
that... 'What you don't know, won't drive you Crazy.' is going to be my motto...lol.

I just love multi (distance/surface) sires. So many ways for the slides to help you.

What does it actually say to you when you get a versatile horse? None of mine have been
AT STUD
DR... ROYAL ASSASSIN | WITTED
TR... DAY TO DAY | FIRST CLASS | MEGAPIXELS | MIJO | VALAR | WILDNESS
Future Sires... CINEMA (Y69 or 70) | TRAILBLAZING (Y68 or 69)

Basically all of the Arabian "routers" I have tried have been versatile. So now I'm like uhhh... So does that mean you guys can mile? Sprint? All of the above?
I guess i'll have some fun experimenting (and probably messing my fancy Freak colt's records up) this season :D

Mostly haven't been surprised. Things that I bred to be versatile mostly are, and vice versa... which is good.
Not all though.

This Cracksman out of a confirmed AWS/TS: nada.

I had hopes that this Crystal Ocean out of a Pierro mare might want to stretch to a mile, but nope.

Thought there was a chance that this could be dual-surface. Not so much, but the mare hypos decently with TS and AWS, so that's a fun direction to go in.

This guy might want to go longer after all? Dam is A- to TS, B to TM, B+ to TR. BUT his full sister is *not* versatile. Which I find very interesting, and kind of answers the question I had regarding whether the slide can potentially apply to multi-divisional abilities. It would seem, based on these full siblings, that the slide is not just applied evenly to a foal's ability across all divisions, but perhaps each "number" gets its own slide? Food for thought.
