I am so proud of my babies :D

Post by Stormy Peak »

From my thread where I had a horrible results night, I mentioned my 2 year old turf routers getting their 1st starts in the only stakes races today.

............Monday I have my fillies, Malcontent and Pagan running in the first stakes race of the season for 2 year old turf routers -- The First Route Ladies Stakes

Ditto for my colt, Tuck Everlasting Who's running in the The First Route Men Stakes

Malcontent is a Freak late bloomer, Pagan is a Stakes peak and Tuck Everlasting is a Freak progressive.
Before last night I was thinking...They had as good of a chance as any to win or make money in their first starts...but now, I thinking I need to run in a barrier race to get My confidence back up...lol

Malcontent won,
Pagan finished 2nd

And

Tuck Everlasting won his stakes race too!

All 3 are products of mares from my Foremost pedigree lines, each with different sires.
Malcontent, btw, is a full sibling to Mal, and a 1/2 sibling to Roughian, all 3 being foaled by my broodmare, Fortitude.

I am so proud of all three of my 2 year olds. Image

Thanks.

Your filly, Classic Melody, was moving up pretty nice towards the end. She might end up liking a longer distances. I see that her sire, There There There, won a number of races at 1 1/2 miles. : )

This race's finish was kind of odd, in my opinion. Seems like most of the time, horses are grouped a bit tighter with some just a nose, head or neck over others by the time they hit the finish line.

The finishes in this race were almost equally strung out with 1 length between them.

Malcontent------------ 1: 1 1/4
Pagan------------------- 2: 1 1/2
Slide and Seek--------- 3: 1
Classy Melody---------- 4: 1
Pinot Tierra------------ 5: 1
Chose to Be Happy---- 6: 1 1/2
Storming the Sea------ 7: 1
Normandy Breached--- 8: 1
here There Moody----- 9: --

---------------------

I am hoping Malcontent and Tuck Everlasting will not be precocious, and will continue to do well this year up until they are at the end of their 4th year. But my 2yr old crop was slammed with a lot of peaks already...doesn't bode well for getting them through 4 year old season. Pagan is one of them, she's a stakes peak already. I hope to get a good 3 year old season out of her, but I doubt she can sustain it into her 4th year.

I hope your filly has a nice career with a lot of stakes wins. : )

I saw this result and felt really happy for you this morning. It's not every day you sweep a pair of stakes with homebreds like that.

Stormy the venerable, of the highest Peak, conquering the low. It takes a real veteran to turn in good results after a bounce.
