What a nice group of fillies : )

I love this race, have entered a lot of mares in it over the years, but only won it twice, and that was some time ago.
In Year 32, my mare Forgave won it, then in Year 40 her daughter, Forethought won it. : )

This year, I have Extreme Ways entered...She's a grand-daughter of Forgave. I'm not going to give her a lot of hope in winning though. She peaked as a Freak last year but I think she's lost a step. Still, she's done well this year, hit the board in two Grade 1's against the males, won a GIII, and finished 5th in the super tough Pellegrini stakes. (also against the boys).

Forgave also has another descendant in this race, a great great grand-daughter.
The really nice filly, Kindness of Others, bred and owned by Norman Architecture. If my mare can't win, I will certainly be cheering his mare on!

Melissa Mae has brought in her 4 year old, Grade 1 winning mare. Precede seems to be really comfortable at the 1 1/8 mile distance.

Dark Red Moon owned by Mary Whalen is a 3 year old. She seems to be improving with each race...came in 2nd in a GIII and then followed that in her last race by finishing 2nd in a GII. Those were both 1 1/16 mile races and she might like going a little longer...she has won a 1 1/8th this year.

Ryan Whitehead - his filly, Specialisation. I have no doubt she will be a millionaire after this race, and she's still a 3 year old. Every so often, Ryan and I will exchange PMs when we both have nice fillies in the same race. Wishing each other luck...probably both of us with our fingers crossed behind our backs...lol. I don't even want to mention how many wins in a row she's racked up...lol. ( 7  ) Can she get to 8?
He sure knows how to breed really great turf router fillies! Good Luck, Ryan  lol ;) [btw... I LOVE her headshot!]

And the best of the lot?
The 4 year old mare, With Daydreams owned by Kris Bobby. What a beautiful mare...lovely headshot and Awesome race record. She's earned $2,500,750 million in 13 starts.

Her season this year hasn't been the best as far as wins...but I kind of wonder if she got a little tired.
She had a long string of every other week races there for a while...raced Year 58 starting at weeks 12, 14, 16, then Y59, weeks, 2, 4, 6...after which she got a 2 week rest between races and on week 9 Day 5, she finished 2nd in a Grade one.

I think she might have got her batteries recharged with that rest, and in getting a few weeks of rest between that race and this one. She's coming in well rested and might be due for another big win. She also seems very comfortable running at
1 1/8th miles. Her Grade II win of week 6 this year was at that distance.

For all the mares in this race...it will be their first time running in it.

Great race...won by a nose!

Congratulations to Norman Architecture and his filly Kindness of Others.

I wish it had been a dead heat...because I also sure hated seeing Ryan Whitehead's filly, Specialisation - see an end to her win streak. She finished 2nd by a nose...great job for this super 3 year old filly.

The great mare, With Daydream's owned by Kris Bobby, finished 3rd.

*** on a side note***

My internet went out in the early afternoon -- actually the whole valley...for those with internet from the phone company. There's another service here, but they are just 'in-town.' I was told it would be repaired by 8:30pm. Then at 7pm, I called and the message said...Tomorrow at 8 A.M. UHG.

So... I took my Kindle Fire to my sister's house to hear the races. Come home an hour and a half later, decided to sit at my computer, eat my dinner of mac and cheese and listen to some music files...and out of habit I hit the refresh button on a tab...and the internet was on. Some tech probably just realized something got unplugged...and plugged it back in after all the other techs have been working over time combing through stuff trying to find out why the net went down. *eye roll*
