Almost Won A Grade 1 With A Homebred

Post by Nathan Klein »

So last night I raced one of my homebreds she was already destined to be one of my better 2-year-olds Her name is Skelarlincy
. An Amalgamation of the 4 people in the Festivus Zoom Call when she was first galloped. She was already running well placing in her first race and than winning her second race. So when I noticed the Inglewood Futurity
was playing out to be a match race between Gallifrey and Ran Me Out Of Town I thought I could get an easy third and snag an easy check regardless if she got easily left behind she was a half decent horse. But instead she ran along side Gallifrey and absolutely out ran her odds getting between Ran Me Out Of Town and Gallifrey. I didn't think she would be able to keep pace with a 2 million dollar Steward Bred Freak but she came only a neck away from winning the Inglewood Futurity. I couldn't be prouder to have said I created this horse and see her go the distance with Stewardbred royalty. Hopefully this isn't the last time I have stakes success with her. If she keeps this up I might have her in the Oaks next year. But for now i'll just hope to get her a stakes win.

Congrats with the nice finish. She had a really nice speed figure too!
She will probably get you a G1 win before her career is over, hopefully, even more than one. : )

Nice one Nathan! A wee bit more ground and she’d have had it in the bag. Very well done, congrats!
