No, not goalpost

Post by Kelly Haggerty »

Goals post. It's that time for Y60.

For me it boils down to these 3 things:

1) My OTB still needs to be higher. Gotta work on that.
2) Enjoying the Mixer Tri Distance Championship.
3) I have freaks to campaign for the first time this year (3 of them). So not totally botching their careers through my inexperience and having some fun with them along the way.

Hmm.
1. Win at least one Grade 1 with Cass Ole
2. OTB of 65% or higher
3. Get at least four two year old wins, which may not sound like much, but I run a small barn of TB Dirt Routers lol

No goals. The goal posts keep moving anyway. Setting goals just sets me up for disappointment.

1) Win the Louisville Derby and the TBDR Classic*
* I don't even have a horse that may potentially win those races this year, but it's "the same goal as every year, James".

More of a desire than a goal:
To have any number of my eligible horses graduate to Freak status.
Make that a high level Freak status, while I'm at it.

1) Not to confuse proxy and non-proxy bidding in an auction again
2) Don't gallop a horse a couple of days before I meant to race him again
3) Ensure that I don't mess up the number of zeros before placing an offer on the exchange again
4) Not to have horses scratched by misreading time left to enter with post time again

I don't think I can top last year, smoked all my own personal bests y59 (win%, OTB%, stakes wins, G1 wins, and earnings all drastically better than any year previous, plus my first SC win)... But it would be very nice to bump up my win and OTB percentages a bit.

First and foremost - have fun!
2. 2 or more G1 wins
I'm just here for the fun of it

Last year I did not get my one and only G1 until week 16: just hit 2 G1 wins for the year!

My goal is to not let real life foaling/breeding season run me so ragged that I let my sim barn go idle for the hundredth time. 🙏🏼
