Only a game ?

Unaccustomed as I am to participating in these forums, I feel the need to tell this little tale !! :D

Whilst my good lady wife and adopted son (5 yo), were having breakfast saturday morning , I was getting a bit excited watching the Saudi Turf Sprint.
With only a furlong to go we were still in front..I was jumping and shouting like a mad man as the charge came and the gap was shortening.

My wife thought we'd won the lottery but my lad told her it was "only cartoon horses" !!
No amount of explaining helped them understand the fact that this was huge news for a stable like mine :lol:
I even showed them the trophy thingy I got for the win, but to no avail.
How can it be that a bunch of cartoon horses can turn a normal, sane fellow into a jibbering wreck? :shock:

Sorry for the ramble but I'm still chuffed with the win, especially as it only cost $5000 for the lease of Tamaras' Dark Miss and $11,500 for the fluids of Jeblar. I'm hoping you all understand...

And I totally understand you. I always wear a watch which measures my pulse, and my pulse is always around 120 during race calls when I have a horse running xD

Jimmy, big congrats on the win, remember when your horse was 2yo and I told you that he was special?

It’s such a good feeling when they win these big ones. Congrats again!

Congrats on the big win! I watched the race view and it was a fun one to watch. Yep they were closing in, but your guy still won by a respectable 1 1/4 length.

And too, it looks like the purse winnings from that race tipped your horse into the $3 Million+ in earnings!
I hope that when he retires, he ends up being a decent stud for you too : )

I think that kind of story has happened to us all at one time or another. Outsiders just don’t understand our attachment to our pixelated ponies! My hearty congrats to you Jimmy! I’ll second what Stormy said, may he continue to bring you further fame and good fortune!

And yes Pietro, I do remember. In fact I made a comment in my notes that said "this chap is some sort of guru !! ". It still makes me smile.. :D

Goes back to the old slogan "It's not the horses that are real it is the emotions..." and I was an emotional mess when I won my first big race in the game! Okay still get emotional. Congrats!
