Festivus Disappointment

Post by Paul Sellers »

Definitely my worst breeding year ever.

Two Stakes. No Freaks.

Pretty brutal. Definitely time to spend some time away from the game. Hope others did better.

I think the gallop comment is now recalibrated and that makes your yls look worse. The older horses get downgraded too

I never get any stakes and my only hope, my stewardbred freak came 14th in the Steward's Cup so have heart, yours could be worse!

My freak 2yo, first freak I ever bred (who I didn't have lofty hopes for or anything, it was just exciting to have bred one) is now a stakes, and my stakes progressive is now allowance progressive. At least the stakes LB is still stakes LB, so I seem to have actually done something right with her.

Always good when you breed 5 freaks and 4 get downgraded as 2 yr olds. Plus now if a stud gets lucky and sires a freak their percentage could be much more misleading. Congrats on ruining things. Absolutely hate these changes

I understand your frustration but chill a little bit on the personal hate comments towards the steward. The words “congrats on ruining thing” is pretty harsh

Steward "I'm going to get rid of gallop comments on yearlings because you all take them way to serious and freak out when you don't like them"

Players "No you're ruining our lives"

Gallops accidentally still show on some pages

Players "OMG my gallops are low you've ruined our lives"

See also

Players "I have all these dud freaks, gallop comments are meaningless"

Steward adjusts gallop comments to make more meaningful

Players "I don't have enough high gallop comments, you've ruined my life"

How she doesn't rage quit is beyond me.

I have to say... I'm not that dissapointed. I was at first, until I realized that the Steward had modified the numbers down. Of course, it' not funny to get 12 Chase Freaks, when I had 103 2 y old Chase Freaks last year. But it was a very needed thing to do! And I personally love the change and the new comments! But of course, I didn't get ANY flatracing freaks at all this year. And I´ve spent millons on breeding, and I personally thinks I'm breeding better and better horses. (at least A- in TBs, and mostly A+ in mixers) But well, I have to use what I have, and it usually goes pretty well...

*have to continue racing "clever" and use unfilled races and so on...;) *

Right, if this is the end of sad freaks (or mostly the end of sad freaks) I am all for it.
