Stupid real life is getting in the way for me. I won't be able to gallop most of my horses until tomorrow. It's killing me lol!!!

Gallops accidentally still show on some pages
I was really looking forward to the end of displaying gallop categories (e.g., freak) for yearlings. I was hoping that this change would rejuvenate my interest in the Sim. I even developed a training plan for my Year 62 yearlings.

If I was not retired with too much time on my hands, I would seriously consider rage quitting after this Festivus Fiasco. If a major change is announced, the change should be tested thoroughly before the release so "accidents" do not occur.
I agree some as I too wanted to be done with the label. In fact I made a post raising a drink to it being gone. Only one person raised there glass.but I do feel it was nice to see the label along with new comments to help learn alittle of what the new things mean for the future to come

For me this will eventually have the effect of no longer taking chances on making weird pedigrees and odd inbreeding out of my formidable and low end star mares. Those almost never work out, but when they do it’s easily the coolest part of the game for me. Look at a mare like Gator’s Moonshine, she probably wouldn’t even exist under the new changes. Heck, Shiloh probably wouldn’t either.
I don't think anything is changed in the breeding department. The thing that is changed is how the results are displayed and the threshold for gallops have been adjusted. So I think people can still take chances on Gator's and Shilohs.

She should just make every gallop comment some type of freak "this horse is freaky" "this horse likes to be freaky" "Wow, what a freak!" and "What kind of freak is that?!"

If you don’t want to see the gallops comments and had a plan to train horses without that label…then just ignore it?
You can continue with the plan you had anyway and pretend they don’t exist, no?

I plan on sticking to my training plans for my yearlings. Unfortunately, most of the anticipated competitive advantage of my plans is probably gone.

Fair enough, could be good practice if they go away next season….I would just hate to see you go cause of seeing the gallops when you were excited for your plan without knowing.

I love all the changes, especially the adjustment AND having both the new info from gallops plus the gallop comments. I mass galloped all my yearlings because I’m at an event this weekend and had a what the heck moment. Checked the forum and saw that everyone was having the same thing and that likely there was an adjustment and I was EXCITED. I don’t understand how people realize their horses have the same talent code as before the gallop comment threshold was adjusted. Your horse’s individual stats weren’t altered in any way…this is a GOOD thing.

What really has me confused though is how this guy is *still* a freak and has been since Y59 🤪🤣

Edit: OH! And my only sadness is that we don’t get the fun new comments on our 2yo+ horses too, because I’m greedy like that!

I will second enjoying keeping the gallop labels paired with the new comments.

Now that I galloped my horses I just want break to be over so I can dive into racing again :D. I've missed it and I have a lot of older maidens who want to hit the track.

When I first saw that https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1510975 had downgraded fom freak progressive to stakes progressive, I was bummed. But then I quickly realized that he still was one of only 23 yearlings in the top 50 of 5F works and top 2 or 3 at both 6F and 7F. Nothing changed except that label. I had been planning to aim him for the TC when he turns 3 and that has not changed because of a label. He very well may go back up to freak when he progresses, but if not, so what? My expectations are the same. Also, and I know not everyone is like this, but I race EVERY one of my horses at least twice looking for jumpers. For most people, this horse https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1434788 would have been pensioned, gp, or sent to AJ to die. She was a claimer who jumped to stakes in her maiden race posting a 91. She just jumped to freak after the threshold change gallop yesterday. I originally bought her for breeding purposes, but how many would have immediately retired her because she was a claimer? I'm sure glad I didn't. If more get raced a few times now, I think that is a positive.

That filly is why I auction them instead of AJing, Eric. I personally can’t handle more than 20-30 horses in my racing barn so I cull off a lot of things that probably just need a bit of patience. One of the very few times I’ve rage AJed something in the past few years ended up being the dam of a multiple grade 1 winning mare 🤣 there’s plenty of horses worth a shot if you’ve got the time and patience!
