Who Are Your Breeding Shed Colts?

Post by Nena Olson »

I thought it would be fun to see what colts have received the breeding shed comment as yearlings and their current gallop. This way we can see if any of them make it to the elusive $350k earnings or jump up significantly after they have raced once or twice (if you plan on racing them!) These are my breeding shed boys, as of this moment with 3 gallops in.

Light The Sky - Fiftyshadesbriter x Fav Lil Rocket by Rocketry - Different Career Peak (Chasing Prospect)

Enticed - Illegalist x Allure by King of Stars - Allowance Late Bloomer (Dirt Sprinter)

Bitmap - Fade to Black x Pinta by Sidney - Productive Late Bloomer (Turf Router)

Bloodthirst - Unmerciful x To Make You Smile by A Million Dreams - Productive Late Bloomer (Dirt Router)

City of Kings - Palace Pier x World Is Raging by World Wide Fame - Productive Late Bloomer (Turf Miler)

I only bred one TB colt and he's trash lol

But I bred some Paint Mid colts who got the comment...
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1583475 - Allowance Progressive
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1585405 - Productive Bloomer
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1583476 - Solid Bloomer (also apparently tough as nails!)
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1585454 - Allowance Bloomer - Got BOTH the Breeding shed comment and the Insure comment.
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1591677 - Productive Bloomer

And then I got like four others who didn't get the breeding shed comment (yet?) but got the insure comment. I'm wondering if maybe those two are kind of related? Whatever the case, all these boys have a LOT of growing up to do if they're gonna be in the Breeding shed.

Only this one yet:
61 Cesium - Megapixels x Cesium by Light up light up - Allowance progressive TR
Unfortunately he also appears to have "no winning spirit". I suspect his greatest qualities will be elsewhere than by donating digital gametes for future generations, frankly. :)

I have galloped my yearlings 3 times and some have 3 different comments. I wouldn't be surprised if every half decent colt ends up with this comment tbh

I got the comment on several fillies which was nice :D.

The boys I could find from random clicking:

Ittakeswizards: productive LB
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1571616

Wizard's Lie: solid LB
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1575080

A Fourth Wizard: peak progressive - already gelded
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1575126

Lanark Legion: productive progressive
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1571692

Modern Drogon - DC progressive - already gelded but I will breed a sister
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1583530

I geld most of my boys and I geld early. I don't have the broodmare band to make breeding stud colts an expectation. But I'm leaving some colts whole to see how they age up.

Pedigree wise none are really interesting except maybe Lanark Legion. His dam got a glowing compliment from Emily in a mail message when she was racing and I've been waiting to see how she would turn out as a broodmare. Fingers are crossed that as a Star whose first foal has breeding potential the slider has actually blessed her. It's still early days yet on that question.

Freak late bloomer from Dopamine (DS)…doesn’t have any female line really so will be interesting to see if he hits 350k how he is as a sire cause usually I would’ve thought not good

I have 3:

This one is a chaser, so who knows what he will be once he can jump https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1552782

My other two are both interesting. This one is out of a formidable CAM that I put together and bred to a new young sire. https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1568588. He has no inbreeding, so maybe an outcross if he can get it together.

This one is out of an AJ-created mare and by Avengers Assemble https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1557042

Just throwing it out there: I wonder if the breeding comment takes into account whether they are colts or fillies or if the comment is just if they were fillies they would be good breeders
