Eric, might be using the race as an easier prep race for one of the Saudi races, week 6? (compared to finding the horse a Graded race for his first race of this season)

Leopard threw in a clunker in his last start in the G1 SC race in Seattle, has had that weird 1/2 week of rest preseason, plus weeks 1 and 2 off. This race might be, something more than a work or barrier trial for him, plus got him from the USA west coast into Europe and from there swing south east to Saudi Arabia.

I have no real clue though, just guessing here...lol. :P
