Yearling gallops and training times

Post by Gwen Morse »

For those who have started timed workouts, anyone see a correlation between the "What a bunch of natural speed" gallop comment and better/faster training times?

I didn’t think it was wise to timed workouts until week 5. Gallops are fine but workouts I read not until week 5.

Mine all hit the track then to be safe.

The trainer no longer gives you the "Be careful comment" so it's safe to workout yearlings. I've done it week 4 day 6 for many many seasons now and I've never injured a single yearling.
