Name - Abbreviation change on equipment?

Post by Stormy Peak »

Would anyone be opposed to changing an equipment name....

I have diabetes, and this means that sometimes my vision is blurred.

More than a few times, when looking at 2 year old works and trying to figure out equipment...I have mixed up the abbreviations for Front Bandages (FB) and Figure Eight (F8)

FB, F8

They just look so much alike.

I was wondering if maybe rather than Front and Hind Bandages.... they could be called 'Wraps' So we would have FW, and BW.

I don't think the FW or BW could be confused with the NW --> No Whip....as 'N' doesn't look anything like a 'F' or a 'B'

I just recently, ran a 2yr old on FB, when his faster work was actually F8.
This is not a huge issue, but I, and maybe others? might find it easier to see at a glance what piece is needed if we could change the equipment name.

I suppose that if the name wasn't changed, maybe just not capping the 2nd letters in Front Bandages and Hind Bandages could work ---> Fb, Hb.

Comparing that to Figure 8, would be easier to distinguish too:

Fb, F8

Anyway, I hope this is something that could be looked into by the Steward and Admin....and wouldn't be a difficult thing to change in the program

I wouldn't mind that change, or even F8 to F-8 so it was an extra character to make it stand out.

I am confused by this discussion. Where is FB and F8 displayed (upper case used)?. I only found fb and f8 displayed (lower case used).
