349. Plus another 98 in my let them mature barn.
I do my best to race all my horses but the claimers. Sometimes a solid or two isn't worth the effort.

Re: Stable size poll
Lest anyone think I am lying, there are indeed 118 in my racing barn. It's just that half of those are still in the oven waiting for the timer to pop up.

Re: Stable size poll
Counting my TX bred runners, handful of chasers I'm entering and real runners - about 75 - which is high for me - I prefer to keep to 40-50 active runners (I tend to run 350-400 starts/year).
I'm just here for the fun of it

Re: Stable size poll
I thought there would be more really big barns with the people that race in lots of divisions? Maybe they are too busy entering horses to answer the poll.

550 racers, of which 80-85 percent are claimers.
It is beyond me how much time is involved, but being retired def helps!
Also a good daily workout for the brain!

Re: Stable size poll
My own poll and I haven't actually voted in it... whoops.
I run around 750 actively. Plus occasionally poking at a partnership, and assistant training a friend's stable (admittedly I have only bothered to keep one horse active there this season). This is way too many, but I struggle to cull to a manageable number... I really enjoy the extra income lol. I was close to manageable at the end of last season, but then 300+ yearlings had the audacity to have their birthdays all at once and move into the racing barn.
