While we're waiting on Festivus - the 2 y/os

Post by Gwen Morse »

While we're all waiting for gallops our yearlings have quietly aged up and moved over to the racing barn (3 y/os for Arabians).

I have 199 2 y/os debuting this year. Some will be going to Rochelle but I'll race the rest. No slackers in my barn.

This stakes gallop filly one is my hopeful contender: https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1603289

I also have a few allowance gallops who have me crossing my fingers.

Who else has 2 debut racers they're excited/hopeful about?

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1649453 - she's a stakes peak stewardbred. Paid quite a bit for this one and she's a longer career so I hope she is decent on the track at least.
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1616579 - this one is an allowance late bloomer with a really nice pedigree, so maaaybe he's gonna improve and get to that 350k? He is a longer career though

I wish we could get a video of that one's training with King Cartier.

Those in the discord are probably tired of seeing me mention my 2yos - but I am very excited about my 2yo crop this year.

I have 325 two year olds across all the breeds I run. Previously had a whopping 180 in the entire racing string. Send help.

Particularly interested in Sky Squared (late blooming freak and yes, his name sounds dumb, but that is what I collectively called his parents when they were racing in near lockstep their entire careers) and I Dare You (progressive, brave stakes named for the first Shinedown song I ever heard, from whose songs come the names for many of her best relatives).

I have a couple decent timing Allowance horses who I will be curious to see if they jump in ability once we can gallop again. Nothing super fancy though. These two have most of my early hope:

Tea for Taka who was named after my RL horse
My Reputation who is my best timing filly, out of a BH, and has the shed comment!

There are some others, but those are the better ones. I'm mostly overwhelmed at going from about 30 something racers to over 100...
