SO while I still gallop for heart to identify my prima donnas, this weeks results are 35 gallops - 7 revealed - 5 are timid

More timid gripes - at least that is all I can attribute it to...

A "timid," horses that can run with a steward bred "As is Was" 6 weeks ago can't make a dent even in a minor stakes race.

Think I will be rounding up a "timid" auction for those who think this is a negligible trait!

I usually check everything that needs checking, except heart.

all the examples are of stand out talents. If my talent level is say a 100 rating versus 50 then ok heart maybe doesn't matter

if my talent is 50 in a sea of 50s heart has shown to be what seems to be the equivalent of a gallop lower...at least

But what d I know? There is one person on this thread that does NOT have a successful breeding program and crowded trophy case, the rest do!

Allowance Peak BRAVE

Allowance Peak TIMID

I personally think from an outside point of view you'd swap them around and say the latter is the brave boy

I think you have done a great job placing Mega with an average field size of 4.7 versus almost double for Louboutin at 8.75

My timid was in an 11 horse field but had an outside post and i needed the weather - i was hoping the post was enough, but field size seems to be a big factor for these sensitive pack animals. Too bad no late scratches for these types.

I think you hit the nail on the head there John, for me there's multiple tiny factors that spiral into one big factor that can determine a result. I think heart is one of those too and could be placed in the same category as pace preference, weather preference, field size etc.
