20% G1 wins is alright. Top AEPS is pretty swell. I should study her method and see how I can improve my own statistics.

Per the rules, all non-new player nominations require 100 starts per year.

Mike Springer only had 99 and thus was also left off.

It's kind of an odd award, in a way. I mean, putting what you have in the best possible spot seems to be what makes a "trainer" so my list would have based on OTB. I have no idea what the criteria are for this, so no idea how to vote. Same for breeder.

All the human awards are (and have always been)

Top 2 in wins
Top 2 in stakes wins
Top 2 in earnings
Highest in G1 wins
Highest % on the board
Highest % wins
Highest earnings per start

and then the most compelling stories of the year, for instance the winners of the Triple Crown, or the trainer of "best turf sprinter of all time" Right Here Now. Obviously a lot of these categories will be overlapping humans.

You can find the rules for the SIMMYs in the FAQ section :-)

Thanks. Wasn't worried enough to go to the FAQs but am glad you posted.
