Breeding a mare during shipping?

Post by Stormy Peak »

I thought that when a mare was being shipped to a farm, and you bred her, that the foal would end up at the farm the mare was being sent to?

I just standard shipped a mare, from Australia to Florida...cost of $1,400. But the resulting foal was at the farm in Australia.
So, I had to spend another $1,400 to ship him too.

Maybe I should have waited a few minutes after I went from 1st class shipping to standard shipping before breeding the mare?

I've bred enough mares during shipping that I don't think I'm wrong on this...that mares could be bred during shipping and the foal was automatically put in the destination barn.

But the way my post/long covid issues have been, I might not be remembering things correctly. :P

this one made it - shipped mom from your farm! Not sure how much time elapsed before I bred her but it wasn't instantly after shipping.
