Nominations

Only five events in the SIM require a nomination fee beforehand. Nominations run Monday - Sunday of the week they are open except for the Pegasus, which ends on Friday nights.

Triple Crown
The American Triple Crown for three-year-old Thoroughbreds is run Weeks 6, 7 and 9 in Kentucky, Maryland and New York. Two-year-olds can be nominated during Week 15 for $5,000 each in an early nomination period. During Week 1 of their three-year-old year, they can be late nominated for $50,000. If both of these periods are missed, the horse is ineligible for the Triple Crown. Standard rules regarding entry fees, shipping, and order of getting into the race still apply.

Steward's Cup
The Steward's Cup covers all of the championship races Week 16 for all breeds/surfaces. Horses can be nominated for $10,000 during Week 10 and $75,000 during Week 13. The nomination is lifetime - a horse only has to be nominated once. Standard rules regarding entry fees, shipping, and order of getting into the race still apply.

Pegasus
The Pegasus, which includes a $20,000 nomination for 4 year olds and up, is a 9-race series encompassing the following races:
14 horses can enter. If you don't get into the body of the field unfortunately the nomination is lost. Nominations will be cleared each year (not a lifetime nomination)
$1,500,000 - Pegasus Summit. 6 1/2fAW 4yo+
$1,500,000 - Pegasus Synthetic Mile. 1 mile AW 4yo+
$2,000,000 - Pegasus Route. 1 3/16mAW 4yo+
$1,500,000 - Pegasus Dash. 6fT 4yo+
$1,500,000 - Pegasus Sprint. 6 1/2fD 4yo+
$1,500,000 - Pegasus Turf Mile. 1mT 4yo+
$1,500,000 - Pegasus Dirt Mile. 1mD 4yo+
$2,000,000 - Pegasus Turf - 1 3/16mT 4yo+
$2,000,000 - Pegasus Classic - 1 3/16mD 4yo+

Saudi Cup
Nominations will be cleared each year (not a lifetime nomination)
The Saudi Cup, which includes a $20,000 nomination for 4 year olds and up, is a 9-race series encompassing the following races:
$1,500,000 Arabian Classic 1 1/4 miles 4+ Arabians,
$1 million Saudi Distaff 1 1/8 miles 4+ F/M
$1,500,000 Saudi Turf Marathon 2 miles turf 4+
$1,500,000 Saudi Sprint 5f dirt 4+
$800,000 Saudi Turf Cup 1 1/4 miles T 4+
$800,000 Saudi Dirt Mile 1 mile 4+
$1 million Saudi Turf Sprint 5f turf 4+
$800,000 Saudi Turf Mile 1 mile turf 4+
$5,000,000 Saudi Cup 1 1/8 miles 4+

Nominations take place Week 1

Most American Futurity/Derby
The Most American Futurity is for 2 year old Quarter Horses and the Most American Derby is for 3 year old Quarter Horses. Both races are run over 400 yards as the ultimate test for middle distance Quarter Horse specialists.

For the initial nomination year (Year 40), 2-year-olds can be nominated for $3,500. Normally, yearlings will be nominated Week 14 for a lifetime nomination at $5,000. Late nominations of 2 year olds will take place Week 5 for $50,000. Standard rules regarding entry fees, shipping, and order of getting into the race still apply.
