RACING DAYS

SIM has racing every day of the week, except Sunday. Each new week starts out as soon as races have been run 1:00 PM Pacific time on Saturday. If you ever want to know what year and week it is, SIM time, then check the blue banner at the top of the Steward's Notices box on your home page.

Racing for each day of the week breaks down as follows:

Day 1 -- 8:00 PM Monday Pacific post time. This is the only day that steeplechasers race. Many of the higher level All Weather races (including the Steward's Cup) also take place on Mondays. While there can be Thoroughbred races on Mondays in various regions of the globe, areas that race exclusively on Mondays are the southwestern United Stakes, Central America, Islands region, and South America.

Day 2 -- 1:00 PM Tuesday Pacific post time. The Alaska region (all claiming races) and Kanashi Wau Park in Japan are the only tracks racing. All are Thoroughbreds. (One exception: The Week 16 Steward's Cup races for harness horses are run on Tuesday.)

Day 3 -- 8:00 PM Wednesday Pacific post time. The harness breeds and mixed breeds run. No Thoroughbreds race.

Day 4 -- 1:00 PM Thursday Pacific post time. The exact same tracks run, as on Tuesdays. (One exception: The Week 16 dirt and turf 2yo Steward's Cup races are run on Thursday.)

Day 5 -- 8:00 PM Friday Pacific post time. When most of the major Thoroughbred regions race. In general, the highest class races are run on Fridays, though there are also allowance and some claiming races.

Day 6 -- 1:00 PM Saturday Pacific post time. As with Wednesdays, it's when the harness breeds and mixed breeds run. No Thoroughbreds race.
