How do these new tracks work, can other players sponsor races at the track? I would be happy to support if so

You can absolutely sponsor races at these tracks. I've already sponsored some to fill in the rest of the gaps I couldn't get into the regular schedule, and I saw someone else sponsoring sprint races there as well.

Now I just have to find a decent AWR mare to send to Benjamin :D
Congrats to James on claiming the first free Benjamin breeding!

PARK UPDATE

The last 4 weeks of races have been scheduled, but it's time to start looking ahead towards next year. In doing so, I'll be going back through the results of this year to make decisions regarding keeping existing races or swapping them for different types. If you have any feedback regarding race availability, NOW IS THE TIME TO TELL ME!

In the mean time, here are some stats for you:

85 route races through W10
49 races with full fields, over 5 entries (57.6%)
14 races met fields, equaled 5 entries (16.5%)
22 races with unfilled fields, under 5 entries (25.9%)

Average field size: 6.259
Average speed figure: 81.7
Most winning owner: Garret Folsom/Madelene Gilbert (9)
Most winning breeder: Madelene Gilbert (12)

I've got a more granular breakdown by distance and age, but I will say based on my preliminary findings I'll be looking at scheduling:
  • Fewer 4 year old and up, particularly maiden claiming and MSWs
  • More 3 year old maiden claiming and MSWs, particularly at the beginning of the year
  • Shift some claiming to maiden and NWL claiming
  • Shift some allowances to NWLs
ALSO, keep an eye out for information about fundraising for GPs for next year's track. Right now we have a balance of 116k GPs, assuming I don't sponsor any more races this year (which I might). Depending on when I need to pay the Steward, I'll update around W15-W16. In the mean time, feel free to send GPs in game. Donors will get stakes races named after them!

It's fundraiser time!

Thanks to your generous support thus far, we have less than 100k GPs to raise to keep the track open next year. I'm hoping to submit the amount to the Steward before W16 Day 5 (Friday), so please send your GPs before then! If you would like to donate but need time to gather funds, shoot me an IOU.

I'll be updating the first post and the thread as we get closer to the deadline.

Thanks again to our donors! This year has been awesome and I hope you all enjoyed having an extra AW track as much as I have. Here's to another year!

We're only 14k GPs away from funding the track! Any additional GPs will go towards additional races or the following year's track.

As always, thanks and appreciate to everyone who's donated!

I'm a little late, but we have enough to cover the track for next year plus a little extra! I've submitted the renewal to the Steward. I'm also going to start looking at the first 4 weeks (at least) of races to determine if any changes are necessary, so if you have feedback please feel free to shoot me a PM.

Re: Portlandia Park - Y51 Donations?

Post by Madelene Gilbert »

It's that time of the year when I need to determine whether or not we're renewing the track for Y51. There were a few GPs leftover from last year, and I can chip in 25k right now (may go up to 37.5k).

If you're interested in donating, post here or shoot me a PM with your donation amount but don't send me GPs yet, in the off chance we don't make the amount. I'd hate to send them back to you. :P

I'm really short on GP's at the moment, but when breeding is done, I'll use the exchange to get some to you. Probably between 5 or 10K

Thanks guys! I've got the first post updated. We're a little more than 100k GPs away from hitting the goal!
