Trottoer Broodie of the Year - Year 46 - Heat 1

Post by Gigi Gofaster »

Okay! Time to get caught up!

Each year I select mares for an informal trotter broodmare of the year award - the prize is a beautiful headshot! To be eligible, mares must have produced two or more stakes winners in the year. Eligible mares are listed here and a poll runs with the winner selected by votes. I'll work through the years one at a time (so I can space out my headshot purchases...). As I have a lot of these to get through, the poll will stay open for 5 days.

Remember you are voting for the performance of their offspring in Year 46 ONLY - later years will go up soon but the premise of the award is based on performance of offspring in a single year. Mares that are now deceased can have their headshot, or I will offer their owner as of Year 46 the option of using the headshot for one of their foals instead. Mares that already have a headshot can likewise have it for one of their foals.

Previous winners:
Year 45: Wild Smile (Mike Larson)
Year 44: Whatyadoinlater (Brianna Mackenzie)
Year 43: Forty Ounces (Lucas Davenport)
Year 42: You Will Be Glad (Doug Kidwell)
Year 41: Assets (Brianna MacKenzie)
Year 40 - Dainty (Gigi Gofaster)
Year 39 - Smooth Hoperator (Angus McClab)
Year 38 - Looks Can Kill (Franky Dam)
Year 37 - Bank (Brianna McKenzie)
Year 36 - Free Brunch (Patrick O Malley)
Year 35 - Tease Me (Patrick O Malley)
Year 34 - Honey Fox (Fogell McLovin)

Here are the Year 46 Heat One candidates:

Apple of his Eye https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=465069 Laura Ferguson's mare is here with Knute who in year 46 was runner up in the Cup Open but also won as takes earlier int he year, and Oddyseus, another hard knocking gelding with a stakes win.

Blingness https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=428434 This mare is gone now, but was a Fogell mare who ended up in the capable hands of Erica Olson. Blingness had 2yo Doodle Town win in Belgium, and 3yo filly Far who picked up three stakes wins.

Diamond Formation https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=427751 Year 46 was the big time for this mare, with four stakes winners: 2yo Royal Formation with a grade three before taking home the Cup Juvenile, 3yo Gem, with three stakes wins including a grade 2, 4yo Act of Heroism who had a five win stakes streak before coming up short in the Cup, and 5yo Herb with three stakes wins. This was another former Fogell mare, this one ending up with a very lucky Nikki Everdeen!

Drunkenly https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=515949 Kya's mare had two this year, 3yo Drunken Uncle and 2yo Highland Stone, both with one stakes win each.

Forked Creek https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=444565 This mare had two winners in year 46, Trot Christopher with two stakes wins including the Cup Open, and 3yo Trot Edmond who finished the year on a stakes win.

Lila Long https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=530606 This mare had two winners, 3yo Diamond Grade and 2yo White Gold, each with one stakes win.
