PACERS
Freak

Always B Winning (a 3/4 sister to this great mare who picked up her fourth SC 2nd placing last year. The dam left a Catalyst freak last year and is still kicking at 14 to try again this year)

Stakes
With Heart (who I really like as a prospect. Unfortunately I stood his sire so many of my mares can't go to him)
Joke Face x2 (a big favourite of mine)
Catalyst (great stallion. If I catch him with spots open I like to send him something)

TROTTERS
Stakes

Castle Drogo x3 (he's by Devon Castle which doesn't help his chances, and I have a 4-time SC winning son of Devon Castle of my own who'll be retiring at some point soon, but I like both of Gigi's new sons of Devon Castle. I rate this one a touch higher than Poison Chalice, but he's had his fee doubled whereas Poison Chalice has had no change)
One Holiday Gift x2 (I bred late as per usual, so the Holiday stallions are an easy "Oh, he'll do" option. I've had some decent luck with them)

Trotters only. This year I made better use of game point and outside stallions than I’ve done in the past.

Freaks
Devious Man
Devon Castle
Devon trickster.
Lifeaholic
Prayer I am
Tls captain jack s

Stakes
Castle Drogo x7
Devious Man x2
Devon Castle x 4
Devon rampage x 2
Devon trickster x 3
Lifeaholic x 2
Poison chalice x 3
Prayer I am x 1
Tls Captain jack s x 6

I’m not sure why Michael thinks being by Devon Castle wouldn’t help a colt’s chances of being a good stallion; I’m very pleased with the performance of his first sons to retire. Neither Drogo or Chalice have any trouble getting A+ nicks and initial gallop stats are extremely competitive.

"Gigi, you continue to impress the heck out of me." - The Steward. Okay, it was 10 RL years ago, but I'm keeping it.

No Freaks this season, which disappointed me greatly. I bred 50 standards (26% Stakes, 40% Allowance, 32% Productive, and 2% Solid) The Stakes sires were...

Trot
2x The Supreme One
2x Marion Marauder
One Holiday Gift
TLS Pegasus

Pace
2x Holy Freak
Wanted Aliveornot
Pacin Edgar
Ancient Truth
Not Just a Storm
Red Hot Pace
Green Mountain Stud - Home of Champion Standardbreds...
The Supreme One - He reigns supreme

Sorry, I wasn't super clear. I meant that Devon Castle is so dominant that everyone has been sending their best mares to him, and the daughters of those matings (in theory the next generation of elite broodmares) can't then go to a son of Devon Castle because the foal would be too inbred. There are also a lot of options if you want to breed to a son of Devon Castle, so a lot of direct competitors. It's not a knock on Devon Castle as a sires of sires, nor on Drogo or Chalice themselves.

Drogo was my most-used trotting stallion this year, so I obviously think he's got the goods. He threw 21% stakes for me, even without the benefit of my two Blue Hen Devon Castle mares (who both went to One Holiday Gift and both produced stakes foals).

Leased out all of my best mares last year so feeling pretty good about this. No trotter freaks or stakes at all.
