44 gallops

1 Freak (Rocket to Glory who promptly got a headshot)
4 Stakes (by Anorak, Ball of Fire, Doctor & Mint)
10 Allowance
5 Productive
9 Solid
14 Claimer
1 Different Career (first time I've had one of these in YEARS)

Very much down on last year, so I'll be cleaning up the broodmare barn a bit again.

93 foals

0 Freaks (not a tragedy. Freak means freak, not good stakes winner who can win a big one if the race turns out right and he/she is well-trained)
11 Stakes: sired by Engross, Ball of Fire X 2, Touchdown Raiders, Two Toned, The Opera Ghost, Stalingrad, Father Ralph, Terror Time, Reach for the Moon, and Crush
16 Allowance
17 Productive
13 Solids
36 Claimers
0 Stiffs. (i am not putting a joke here.)

Takeaway: 29% allowance or better is perfectly fine. Not great, not awful, but an improvement over last year's yearlings who are two now.

Only one stakes Tb
but got two aw allownce milers which can almost be reckoned as stakes in other classes

The one stakes came as a surprise with who the sire was though

He came from the dirt miler/router sire I just bought this year Instant Stardom surprise surprise
he has so far hardly gotten any good mares bred to him even I didn't give him my best mostly because I had already bred them when I got him but also because I was too chicken to try
the one who got a stakes with him is named Prognosticator and is a star mare but hadn't produced anything spectacular to date
so people need to get breeding their dirt milers and routers to this awesome Sire who stand for only 10k

I will have to say how proud I am by the number of "stakes" horses bred by Father Ralph - his last crop will likely be something special!

Of my own
My aforementioned "freak" - by Court of Miracles out of the "formidable" Olive Branch
My six stakes were by:
Gibraltar X 2 (Star broodmare x 2)
Messiah ("formidable" broodmare)
Sidney ("star" broodmare - dam of Olive Branch)
Two Toned (stew bred)
Vladimir ("star" broodmare)
I'm just here for the fun of it

8 stakes TBs for me, by All Too Hard, Early Edition, Pride Of Atlantis, Reach For The Moon, Sidney, Square, Stalingrad and Through The Ghost.

I'm not invested enough in the SIM right now to even be disappointed in all of my claimers from lovely mares and expensive breedings...bit sad in itself. Aside from that - breed to Square! He's doing fairly well having only seen my own crappy turf route mares. I think he could throw something nice if he saw some good ones!
Thundering: leading turf mile sire with average offspring earnings over $70,000
Legionnaire: Steward's Cup Turf Mile winner and sire of 5 stakes winning juveniles in his freshman year
Coming soon: Early Edition and Square
