With a generic SYM filly, would you pick Gentle Touch or Loyal By Your Side?

Depends what's on her bottom side, but I think in general you could make a case for either. GT/GC have more history with that sireline, but both are interesting outcrosses to SYM. Sorry, not too helpful, haha.

Updated top post with fresh infos.

SAF is still doing great with gallop%'s. I have dropped him to $50k because I don't think he should cost more than Lord Black but do I think he's worth every penny of 50 (IMO Lord Black should be well up above 60 by now, but that's not for me to decide, now, is it?)
As usual, spots will be withheld as needed so there are some remaining at year's end for fresh retirees or those who prefer to wait. However, also as usual, I encourage mare owners to reach out to me if he books full or you just have something very nice you need a spot saved for.
I've compiled a bit of info about the damsires he's been successful with so far; I'll post that up after this.

Loyal By Your Side got the dregs of my mare barn and still managed 32% allowance. That's pretty solid for 10k. I'll be using him more this year, and you should too.

GT is back in my barn after being leased out last season, and has been dropped to $16.5k, which is nearly as low as I can go. His gallop stats aren't that shiny compared to some of the new guys, but he remains a very solid option, gets lots of tough money earners, nearly 10% SWs, and continues to be supported by the Steward almost every year, which says something.

Center of Time has a freak TB 2YO to run this year and a nice looking QH router. He's a useful sort.

Seven winners W1 for Strong and Free, with many of the best of them slated to start W2/3. Looking good out there!

It was also a good day at the TBS sales for my boys, with Strong and Free's yearling colt out of the Timelord mare Class going for $3.1m and galloping freak! Dad Gentle Touch did similarly well, as his $5.5m son of Demon's Run (Pit Road) is a freak as well. Nailed it, guys! Congrats to the new owners. Let's win some Chimbos with those things!

I’m trying to pull my weight, boss. My favorite SaF daughter hasn’t raced yet, but I do love her name and hopefully she races up to it

Updated top post a bit, just in time for breeding-planning season.

Strong and Free is the leading first-crop sire by every metric, with 12% SWs and 76% winners from starters already, including the unbeaten Found My Freedom who looks to make it 5-for-5 tonight, and top Euro-based colt Altered State.
Yearlings are looking good as well: five babies under 22.5 and four under 35.8 so far (including a 35.67.)
40ish public spots available, and I have yet to buy the extra 30, which I'll do if he starts to fill up.

Gentle Touch is approaching the twilight of his career, but maybe the best is yet to come? He has a superstar in the making right now in freak Gentle Soul, the only horse to beat Thunder Horse thus far -- and some very well-bred young'uns look to make this a very interesting next few years.

Happy new year, everyone!

Strong and Free had an amazing Festivus, siring a pile of stakes yearlings and TWO freaks -- player-bred freaks, no less.
His 2YOs put up some awesome numbers -- almost ridiculous to have that kind of %SWs and %winners from only one 2YO crop -- and this year's babies look like they're ready to carry on that trend.

I've been keeping a spreadsheet of his yearling gallops for myself, but thought I would make it public. Some interesting trends to be found in terms of damsires and damsire lines. Check it out here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing
Hopefully this helps people out with their breeding plans.
Note: for the sake of my sanity, I did omit some data from mares with obscure or uncommon sires where the only result was one solid or claimer or something. If anyone cares about the gallop of a baby from a mare by Lumiere or Woofer or whatever, uh, let me know?

I've thought about his fee a lot, and I'm going to raise it this year. SYM is a very fair price now at $100k+. Lord Black should be up around 75k IMO. And because he's not, all the fees of the awesome stallions with like 3-6%SWs are also lower than they should be. I'm going to go up to $60k with SAF in the near future, because I truly believe that's where he belongs, especially after this year's gallop results. So... get in now if you want him at 50 :)

Gentle Touch is still getting a lot of action from Stew mares. One freak hits the track this year and there's a yearling freak too!

A little more hype for Strong and Free as the year comes to an end. 45% allowance or better. Only has sophomores on the track but already a G1 winner, 17.5% SWs, 40k average earnings, and they seem to get better with age. Two yearling freaks this year should make for a great season for him next year.

If you're not sure what kind of mare to send, I have a lovely spreadsheet referenced in the post above.

I know I said I was going to raise his price, but I was away most of the summer and forgot about it, and now I feel like it'd be kind of * of me to up it now, right before breeding season. Will go up next year, though. Not a ton, but a little.

Have not updated the top post in awhile, but Strong and Free is having another great year of gallops, and with two freak 2YOs (both homebreds, I might add!) hitting the track this year, he's bound to have his best season yet.

I'm putting him up to $60k, because a) he's worth it and b) we gotta make some room in the 30-50k bracket cause there are lots of guys who deserve to be there.
Happy new year!

Quick end-of-year bump!

Strong and Free had his best year yet, with two G1-winning 2YOs. He's at or near the top of the stallion rankings in every category, and many of his best runners are homebreds, which I think is really important. I love him and I hope you do too. He has some very fast yearlings of this year... so keep an eye out!

Gentle Touch had a great season, as well, buoyed by stars like Feather's Shadow and Gentle Soul. He's of pensioning age next year, so get in there!

Loyal By Your Side continues to fly under the radar, mostly my fault because I don't send him a ton of mares, but many of the foals I do have from him are really useful allowance types, and every barn needs some of those. Not a lot of Chautauqua options out there anymore since the puzzling pensioning of Weak Strong Heart, so use this guy.

Force to Be is new this year, and I have him priced cheaply but sent him some half decent producers so we shall see! Reckoner sons are killing it lately -- Little Fictions is the next big thing and Thunder Horse is, well, Thunder Horse -- so here's a piece of the pie at a bargain price.

Thanks for looking! Happy breeding!

Talus retired. Hypos are right on par with the top few sires. 40k intro fee. Pretty excited for him!
