Fancy Shoes will retire this year if he does not win the SC Classic. Winning the Classic will put him somewhere at or around $9 million, depending what happens in Week 14, and the thought of potentially reaching the $10 million mark is too good to pass up.

If he finishes second in the SC Classic he will retire with an introductory fee of $85,000. If he finishes third or worse his fee will be $75,000.

If his racing career ends this year, he will have run in 18 straight G1 races (mostly at 1 1/4 miles) and will have average earnings > $250,000 per start (higher depending on the last two starts).

I would love to delay retirement but the alternative isn't too bad.

Turf Sprinter Scotty Too Hotty will retire at the end of this year. https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1005044

Named in memory of the one and only Scott Eiland, he's an impeccably bred Turf Sprinter by See You Monday out of a Steward's Cup winning mare and a freak galloper. He's yet to put it all together on track, but I think he's got a bright future in the shed. Barring an unforeseen major win between now and the end of the year, he'll stand initially for $20K.

Scotty Too Hotty should be a definite to retire, not probable. Thanks!

Sorry, I realize you were debating the stud fee, not retirement issue. All fixed!

MORETHANLIFEITSELF (aka that terrible nose per recent Edge) will retire this year if not successful in his next race. He has definitely lost his mojo as most sprinters do, but its hard to retire a homebred when he's still the major money earner of the barn. Likely $25 K.

Made me laugh out loud. You deserved that win!

Ketchikan is possible to retire this year, pending his SC performance. He's a DR and likely fee would be in the neighborhood of $40K
