Router / Miler Turf Sires

Post by Andrew James »

Anyone have any good suggestions for Turf Router pedigreed horses that can sire Turf Milers?

I've used Dandy Lion a few times but looking for more like him.

Thanks in advance!

I have a couple of Turf Miler Stallions I could sell if you're interested.

Yoshida does both and does have TM stakes

Ya Yoshida I have used for that a couple times as well. Looking more for like Turf Router Pedigrees that can throw milers. On the Dirt side there's horses like All of Time, Cyberman etc... Was just wondering if there were any equivalents on the turf side.

Thanks Glenn, but I'm probably okay, dont have very many turf miler mares to support a stallion.

Not my area of expertise, but this and this might be of some help?

Thanks Laura, trying to find some that aren't RL or GP sires though.

Dandy Lion for example is by Reithan (TR) who is by Andre (TR) - Frayed (TR). His mare is ran at a mile but was sired Alexei (TR). Looking for more like him.

Hey I will 2nd that Yoshi is legit and he can definitely cover TM/TR pedigrees and could presumably help in both for a project like this.

I suspect there are sires out there but no one has really tested whether they have miler ability or not.

LOL no I just have a few wonky turf miler mares who look like my dirt miler mares that match better with short routers who can throw milers.

Thanks for the feedback Carole, interesting that its so prevalent on the dirt side but not quite as much on the turf side.

I could be wrong, but I think it's because TM has existed as a specialized division (that people have specifically focused on) for longer than DM has, so the bloodlines have diverged more. I bet there are still a few sires out there capable of "multitasking" though.

Makes sense and agreed. Might be time for some experimentation :)
