Foal Announcements of Year 53

Post by Tim Matthews »

Remember when we used to do this?

I'm mostly done breeding for the year, and I have 3 I'm happy about:

Half the Sky ch.f.0 (Summerland x Lilibet)

Margaret bl.f.0 (Only Me x Allison)

Rosa Luxemburg b.f.0 (James Dean x St. Elmo's Fire)
Got bombed, got frozen
Got finally off to finally dozin’

Thanks Gwayne, I hope so - It's a lot of Messiah inbreeding and I've never had a good JD foal but we'll see

These are from my best two mares:

Both are entries in Cleo's breed a 'Phreeek' extravaganza.

Gorgeous breeding- but the name... :D
Seriously though, I wish I had such exciting thoroughbred foals, hope they turn out really well for you :)

After seeing this post I checked my foals and realized I had pretty much only bred 'necessary' foals from 14+ stallions and as my excitement for the Sim has probably never been lower than this year (not sure why), I remembered that I used to breed my most exciting mares at the beginning of the year and then looked forward to gallop the foals all year. So I thought I'd do this again to maybe spark some interest and... then I realized that these two mares are probably my best thoroughbred mares to breed this year https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=901176 https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=813396 and then got even more depressed :D Then in a "ah, whatever"-moment I spent twice of my usual stud fee limit on the Fabiola filly, thinking I had discovered a really nice match, and then noticed I happened to only copy what Oncu Kaan had done when he leased her out  Maybe I really need to take a break/ auction most of my barn off or something... :?

I've been having some fun breeding - and naming

Possessed - https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1148777
and
Hadestown - https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1148781

a couple of my favorites so far (I breed alphabetically, until I get to 'crunch time" the last week and then by best broodmare rating.

Due to a strong showing from Kingslayer, I’m brazenly pushing my way into dirt routing. Thanks to a very generous lease from Karl, I have Villanelle to look forward to.

(Anybody watch Killing Eve? Villanelle is decidedly wicked!)

Miscreant (King of Monsters x Sidney) probably my best broodmare, 40% foals are Stakes and 40% are Allowance. Em owns her yearling.

I’ve mostly only bred to 14yo stallions, so my selection is maybe 15 horses lol

I’m also super excited about these twins from my BH mare Clarence and Meg (Hold Above x Bittersweet Me) 2 stakes and 6 allowance from 12 foals. Em owns her daughter Ghostwalker, and her daughter Spiritrunner sold for $4 million

I have bred my future stud prospects first this year. Should have some hot fillies arriving too, but I'll breed them later in the year.

Earth Shaking (King of Monsters x Remember Me - Two Toned)
Time Without End (Kingdom Come x She Stole My Heart - Heart of the Storm)
AT STUD
DR... ROYAL ASSASSIN | WITTED
TR... DAY TO DAY | FIRST CLASS | MEGAPIXELS | MIJO | VALAR | WILDNESS
Future Sires... CINEMA (Y69 or 70) | TRAILBLAZING (Y68 or 69)

I guess as far as foals I've bred so far, the two I have the highest hopes for are:

Princess Margareta (James Dean x Rose of Sharon - Allonsy)
The Purrfect Horse (Strong and Free x Cat Named Boots - Mr. Grey)

I also really hope that one of my sad hens can stop being sad. Bred three of them so far, here are their foals:

Dejeuner (All of Time x Omelet du Fromage - Consecration)
Gondwanaland (Summerland x Momentum - Band of Horses)
Starfarer (Keefer x Reader of Stars - Doomsday)
I have a stable full of cats

Full sister to a freak, out of my favourite mare, by my favourite stallion. In a plain bay wrapper like her brother, this one gets the beer-related naming theme of the dam's foals back on track after I broke with it this year (Vice and Virtue is an awesome brewery owned by some friends... and makes for a really good horse name!)
LONG OVERDUE FARM: Keepin' it Canada since Year 16.
Stallions to meet your every need. As long as you need a turf sprinter.

ADORE the name!!! - 2nd season not quite as good as the first - but overall still very cool and unpredictable.
